I have taken a major sabbatical from blogging this summer but it is time to get caught up!
I love the month of June and this year June was a joy. I love going up to Hidden Springs for the annual neighborhood garage sale. Eva and Sophie are little entrepreneurs and LOVE having lemonade stands. I love their homemade sign.
Tommy roamed the neighborhood on his glider.
June always starts off with the BYU Fun Run/Breakfast.
We are always there, helping to set up and cooking pancakes.
We had a great turnout this year.
Devin loves cooking those blue pancakes!
Tom does a great job as the MC
These are some of the newly admitted freshman heading to BYU in the fall.
We fed around 250 this year.
Another thing that makes June joyful is my birthday!
Tom took me to Ruth Chris' Steakhouse.
It was so delicious!!
Tom's banana cream pie creme brulee
I got free dessert, a triple chocolate mousse cake that was heavenly!
Tom and I volunteered at the Idaho Shakespeare Festival in June.
We saw Hamlet.
It was very well done.
I don't know how the actor memorized all his lines.
Hamlet was quite the talker.
The Phantom of the Opera came to Boise so my friend Holly and I decided to go.
Our husbands felt like they had seen it so we had a GNO!
We hosted Charlie and Lucille for Father's Day.
I love these 3 Fathers and that future father.
Dance Party
Tommy loves Grandpa Charlie and family sandwiches
Peekaboo!
We took the youth of our ward out in the desert south of Boise
to a shooting range to teach them gun safety.
It was so fun!
The young women loved it!
The last weekend in June we traveled down to St. George and met up with Whitney and Taylor and got to reunite with Kay and Ken and hear their mission report.
It was so nice being with my family.
We stayed with Patty and Hal on our way down south but they were unable to go to St. George because their grandson Treygan was having his mission farewell.
We missed them.
Pam and Roger hosted John and Cindy and our family.
It was so fun being together.
We ate at the Pizza Factory for dinner.
The weather in St. George was very hot that weekend.
These 3 enjoyed a dip in the pool
Whitney and Cindy are buddies
Gabrielsen siblings and spouses but missing Patty and Hal.
Tom and I drove through the City of Rocks south of Burley on our way back home.
It is a fascinating place.
We definitely want to spend some more time there.
I really don't take very good selfies.
Tom bought tickets to the Carlos Santana concert for my birthday.
It was quite an experience just watching the crowd, but it was a great concert and so fun to sit outside at the Botanical Garden on a beautiful evening.
My friend hosted a fun wedding shower for one of our friends.
I love spending time with these ladies.
We had our first young women pool party of the summer in June.
You gotta love these girls!
To cap off the month of June, we took our first camping trip the weekend before July 4th.
We had a hard time finding a campsite because so many other Idahoans had the same idea but we ended up finding the perfect spot.
Sarah, Whitney and I set up camp and then headed to Warm Lake.
Sara rented some paddle boards.
It was such a beautiful day and the kids loved it.
Mr. Fox wanted to come to our campout
We had fun playing a little wiffle ball.
We took a hike on Saturday morning.
Unfortunately a forest fire had destroyed all the shade.
Tommy loves to hike.
Sophie loved collecting wild flowers.
The Morris family campers
Our friends Jed and Patricia Manwaring joined us camping.
It is always and adventure with the Manwarings.
When you camp with Whitney, you have to play cards.
June was a joyful way to start out summer.
