Capital played Centennial last night in the Sophomore tournament semifinals. Capital was the 3rd seed and Centennial the 2nd and Capital had never beaten Centennial. Capital played the best game of the year with the whole team contributing and doing their job. Taylor had an amazing game and scored 32 points. We had an opportunity to win the game at the end of the 4th quarter as Taylor went up with a great shot right under the basket and got fouled but the refs didn't blow their whistle so they went into overtime. It came down to the last minute of overtime as Capital had a chance to win but the basket missed and Centennial rebounded and took it down the court with 45 seconds left. Centennial burned some clock and then worked it down underneath and scored. With 4 seconds remaining Capital called a time out and drew up a play. As you can see in the video. The play was to get the ball to Taylor. He is number 40 in the video. He catches the ball and dribbles across half court and throws up a beautiful shot that goes in to win the game 56-55. It was amazing!!!
Taylor's game winning shot in overtime.
He was one happy boy! Here's a picture with his coach:

Here's another one with Grandma and Grandpa. You can see the score in the background!

Now we play Mountain View at Mountain View for the District championship on Wednesday night at 6 pm. GO EAGLES!!!

Way to go, Taylor Morris! You described it so well, Joan that my heart was beating fast as I read. What a happy, happy day!
Holy cow! That's incredible! It gave me an adrenaline rush watching the clip.
SO COOL!!! I want to post that on my blog. What a GREAT game and Taylor really was the hero!!
Wow! What an amazing play that was. Sounds like Taylor was the MVP of that game! Congratulations Taylor!!!
This is Ken. WOW!!! What a great shot Taylor!! You must have ice water for blood.... so cool under pressure. It is a great feeling to be the hero, huh! Congratulations, not just for the winning shot, but for a great game. I'm glad I get to be your uncle!!
WOW. That is cool. I'm glad Grandma and Grandpa were there since the rest of your family is sequestered on the other side of the country. I'm sad I missed that one. Mail me a copy of the full video of the game when you get it.
It really was a fun game to watch. But what makes it all even more incredible is that in their first tourny game against Boise on Saturday, Taylor scored 19, including the game winning shot, a sweet 15 footer along the baseline with 5 seconds left to put Capital ahead by 1 for the win! Ho-hum, just another game.
Hey, that was my comment!!
Tom
After reading that I am not sure Taylor and I are related.... Since I pretty much get hit in the head with the ball every time I play ANY sport!!!
