"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

30th anniversary of my 20th Birthday!

We celebrated my "50th" birthday yesterday. I can't believe I'm actually 50 years old, but life is good and having birthdays is better than the alternative. Having a birthday gives us time to reflect and I'm so thankful for good health and a wonderful family. I had a fun day yesterday. I got "Happy Birthday" phonecalls from Whitney and Sara and Lucy, I got to go to McGrath's for lunch with my friend, Wendy and eat salmon, I had lots of friends drop by gifts and cards and Dad brought me home roses! Sarah P. made me a delicious dinner and the best birthday cake ever, Fruit Pizza.

We went to a couple of Taylor's summer league basketball games at BSU last night and I'm sure Capital won both of them, just for me!
It was a great day. This morning I woke up to a delicious breakfast that Taylor prepared for me (with help from Sarah P). Yogurt parfait, bagel and cream cheese, grapefruit, milk, juice, banana, a rose and a Nicholas Cage birthday card (:!

What a treat! I am so blessed and being 50 isn't so bad!

Happy Birthday Aunt Joan! It sounds like you had a happy day. The fruit pizza was absolutely beautiful and it sounds like my kind of birthday cake. You're the best aunt ever! ;)

Ahhh, Taylor and the Nicholas Cage birthday card. Just the guy you want around for your 50th. You don't look that old. I hope my birthday is that great. Maybe Beans will make me a delicious birthday breakfast as well.

Happy, happy birthday, sister dear! You're my hero and I'm glad that we're only one year apart for these 4 days! (I used to hate that you got closer to my age for these four days. Now I love it!)

Baby Clemmy was so happy that she could be here for grandma's birthday. She also really enjoyed the fruit pizza.

We are a little behind, but wanted to also wish you a Happy Birthday!!! By the way...I also understand that "50" is the new
"30", so there you are...you are only 30! :)
