"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

All-star or was that I-star game?

Taylor participated in the 5A District III Coaches Association All Star Basketball game last Wednesday night. He was NOT very thrilled about playing in the game, but we twisted his arm and thought it would be a fun end to his high school basketball career. He was the only player selected from Capital so he didn't really know any of the other All Stars except for playing against them during the season. Capital was grouped with Rocky Mtn., Vallivue, Borah and Centennial and they played Eagle, Caldwell, and Boise (Timberline and Meridian didn't show up). Many of the other players are "divas" and the All Star game was an opportunity for them to show their slam dunk, crazy 3-pointers, and other hot dogging skills. Let's just say, not much defense was played in the game. Taylor did a good job and just played his game and scored 9 points. He participated in the 3-point contest at halftime and ended up getting 3rd place. It was an entertaining game with lots of slam dunks and good camaraderie, so I think he was glad he participated. I know he was glad when the game was over :)
He had lots of support at the game. Grandma and Grandpa Charlie and Uncle Steve and Megan's son Lucas came to watch him.
His entire Priest's quorum also showed up to cheer him on.
