"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

Finally, a Winter Adventure!!

It took clear into January before we finally had enough snow in the mountains above Boise to open the ski resorts. We got dumped on, but the good news was that it warmed up quickly and turned to rain, so there was snow in the mountains and rain in the valley.
Tom and I took advantage of the snowfall and headed to the hills last Saturday. We drove up to Cascade, ate our Subway sandwiches and then went cross country skiing around Lake Cascade. It was an overcast day, but I think I should have used the flash on my camera because these pictures make it look pretty bleak and it wasn't that bad.
We skied to the end of the trail 2.5 miles and then skied back out 2.5 miles.
An Olympic skier I'm not and it took me 3 hours, but it was so peaceful and enjoyable to be up in the mountains, besides the fact that it was great exercise.
We got back to Boise around 6 pm and went to dinner at Joe's Crab Shack. Since I will be in Aruba in a week, I decided to order the Aruba Shrimp Salad. YUM!
We splurged on hot fudge sundaes at Ben and Jerry's (great Groupon coupon)to celebrate Valentine's Day.
It was a fantastic day!!
