"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

Hola Arizona!

Tom's lawfirm sent us to Scottsdale Arizona to check out an international lawfirm that they are considering joining. They were having a 3 days meeting the first week of November at the Scottsdale Fairmont Princess Hotel. We gladly accepted the assignment because we hadn't been to Scottsdale for 20 years (we had a different lawfirm meeting back in 1992 and we took baby Taylor with us). The resort we stayed at was BEAUTIFUL!! We flew into Phoenix Thursday and Thursday night after a cocktail reception Tom and I ventured to Old Town Scottsdale for some dinner. We found a funky Mediterranean restaurant and I tried my first Armenian "Lavash". It was pretty good.
Tom had meetings all morning on Friday and he went golfing on Friday afternoon, so I spent Friday shopping and lounging by the pool. Friday night we had a dinner at an Airplane Museum in Mesa. We rode on buses with the other attorneys and arrived at this hangar all decorated for a dinner complete with a 1940's style band.It was awesome.

The tables were decorated with toys from the 1940's.

It was really fun walking around and reading about all the planes and helicopters from WWI, WWII and the Vietnam War. They even had a flight simulator that we both tried. I was able to get my airplane flying, but had a crash landing. Tom, of course, flew his airplane without error.

The grounds at the Scottsdale Fairmont Princess.

At night they would light the fountains and fireplaces. It was so cool.

Tom had more meetings on Saturday morning and then got to golf the PGA golfcourse at our hotel that afternoon.
I spent the day at the Mesa Temple. I had never been there before, so I google mapped it and found my way (I only got lost once). The temple was beautiful and I really enjoyed attending the session.

I stopped at Sprinkles cupcakes on my way back to the resort. YUM!
We found an LDS church and attended Sacrament meeting on Sunday morning and then went out for Sunday brunch at the Westin hotel. It was delicious. We flew back to Boise that evening. It was an awesome Arizona getaway.
