Tom and I flew to Raleigh, North Carolina on Thanksgiving day this year. We enjoyed our "Thanksgiving dinner" at the United Club in Chicago's O'Hare Airport where we ate cheese, crackers and Walker's Shortbread cookies. It was delicious ;)
Once we arrived in Raleigh, we rented a car and drove to Pinehurst.
It was so fun to see baby Leah for the first time
and reunite with our kids and grand kids. Sarah and Devin drove down from Richmond and arrived about an hour after us. Sara fixed us a delicious dinner and it was so fun to be together. Devin, Tom and Jon went golfing on Friday and the girls stayed home and cooked Thanksgiving dinner.
Chef Zachy also was a big helper
We had a delicious dinner with "brined turkey", stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, Grandma Hopa's greek salad, rolls, pretzel jello salad, Sarah's super yummy sweet potatoes, and beans. Jon, with his surgeon skills, got the honor of carving the turkey.
We had pumpkin and banana cream pie for dessert and they were a hit, especially the banana cream.
Saturday we took the kids to see "Wreck it Ralph". We loved it!
We all went out to dinner at Lonestar Steak house for dinner on Saturday night. YUM!
It looks like a crazy bunch.
Grandpa loved bonding with the little peanut.
Before Devin and Sarah went back to Richmond on Sunday, Sarah P had a photo shoot.
She got some great pictures of baby Leah.
We celebrated Tom-Tom's birthday while we were in North Carolina.
Tom even got his favorite pancakes for breakfast.
I love this picture!
We went on a beautiful walk around Aberdeen Lake.
On Wednesday, Tom and I drove up to Richmond where we met Sarah, Devin, Eva and Sophie for dinner at Peter Chang's restaurant. It was so good. |

Thursday before Tom and Devin went golfing, we had breakfast at WAFFLE HOUSE, Tom's all-time favorite!
That night we went on a crazy Christmas lights tour.
Friday morning before heading back to Pinehurst, we went to the Richmond Children's museum with Eva and Sophie
and then met Devin for lunch at Millie's in downtown Richmond. It was fantastic food and then we drove back to Pinehurst.
| All we were missing were Whitney and Taylor. Maybe next year! Thanks Sara for hosting us! |
