"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

A Thankful Thanksgiving pt.II

Tom flew back to Boise on Saturday, Dec. 1 but before he left for the airport he got to help with Lucy's 6th birthday party. I made the beautiful "Barbie Princess" cake ( my first attempt at such a feat)
and Tom was the pizza delivery man. It was so fun seeing Lucy with all her friends. She chose to make gingerbread houses for her party, so new Mom Sara made graham cracker houses for all the party guests and then the girls, plus Zachy, decorated them.

Didn't they turn out lovely?!

Then it was time for pizza, soda and cake and ice cream.

After Tom left, I was so glad that I got to stay an extra week and help Sara with the new baby.
Tuesday, was Lucy's official 6th birthday so Sara, Zachy, Leah and I went to her school for lunch.
Does Lucy look happy or what?

We brought birthday donuts to hand out to the class.
While Lucy was at school, Chef Zachy and I made sugar cookies.
They were delicious!

That night we decorated Sara's Christmas tree!

Crazy kids!
The night before I flew back to Boise, Sara took me out to dinner at Bonefish Grill. It was so good. I'm dreaming about the augratin potatoes and tuna with bacon and cream. Yummy!
Didn't Sara's tree turn out pretty? I just love that she wanted a red tree just like she grew up with!

We drove by the Raleigh temple on our way to the airport on Saturday. It was beautiful.
I  can't wait until the next time I get to spend time with my east coast kids.
