We had a wonderful Thanksgiving week. As I've said before on this blog, Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday because you get to spend time with family and friends and count your many blessings. One of the best parts of Thanksgiving is naming my blessings one by one.
After 4 years of keeping a "blessing" list, my list is getting pretty loooong.
Our festivities started off with a bang when Whitney and Taylor arrived from Provo just in time to celebrate Tom's birthday. Poor tax paying Tom had to work on his birthday so in his honor, Whitney and I went shopping and had a delicious sushi lunch in downtown Boise.
That afternoon we all went to the movie"Catching Fire". Tom got in free for his birthday! We met Grandma and Grandpa Charlie at Red Robin for dinner afterwards. Tom's favorite -the Terriyaki Chicken sandwich.
Happy, happy birthday!!
We came back to our house for his other favorite - Banana Cream pie.
Thanksgiving morning, Taylor played in a turkey bowl and represented in the MC Hammer pants.
We had a pretty low key Thanksgiving with just the 5 of us,
Tom, Joan, Taylor, Whitney and Trex.
Taylor's first Thanksgiving meal in 3 years.
Later, Missy, Jedd and family came over for a little pumpkin pie and apple crisp plus some game playing.
Sam and his photo bomb!
On Friday Whitney and I shunned the "black Friday" chaos
and chose to get pedicures instead.
Friday evening we went to the mall and got Tom and Taylor some suits and then picked up some pizza and headed out to
Grandma and Grandpa Charlie's for a visit.
On Saturday morning after putting up our Christmas decorations,
Whitney and I went to the Festival of Trees in downtown Boise.
Saturday afternoon during the BYU football game, we made our chocolate covered popcorn for neighbor and friend gifts.
Tom and Taylor enjoyed dinner at Panda on Saturday night.
Let's all sing together..
"I love chinese food, yeah, You know that it's true, yeah,
I love fried rice, I love noodles, I love chow mein, chow mmmmmein."
(check it out on Youtube)
We all watched the BYU vs. Utah State basketball game and celebrated the victory with a trip to U-Swirl.
After church on Sunday, Whitney and Taylor drove back to Utah.
It was so fun having them home for the holidays.

Sounds like a great Thanksgiving weekend! I'm sure it was good to have Taylor home this year! The festival of trees is always fun - especially if you have a daughter to share it with! A Happy Belated Birthday to Tom!
What a great Thanksgiving weekend! Missy said they loved going over to your house for dessert. So great you could be with your two youngers! We have so much to be thankful for, don't we?
Ummmm, yeeeeah. That was officially THE dumbest song about Chinese food I've ever seen. Where the heck did you find that little gem?!?
Your Thanksgiving looked wonderful! I'm so jealous of you and Whitney and all the fun places you went together. Happy Birthday Tom Turkey!
Way to resist the Black (Thursday) madness. I have to say, nothing beats Taylor's pants. Holy cow.
