"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

May is a month to CELEBRATE!

It was so fun having Devin, Sarah, Eva and Sophie with us this year to help us celebrate Mother's Day. We invited the matriarch of the family, Grandma and Grandpa Charlie over for dinner and Devin and Tom made a delicious feast.
Grilled steak and shrimp, caesar salad, and french bread.

Plus we had my personal favorite, chocolate mousse for dessert!

Sarah made some chocolate dipped strawberries. YUM!!
A couple of days later we got to celebrate Sarah P's birthday!
Sarah made a delicious raspberry, white chocolate cheesecake
(Copycat recipe from the Cheesecake Factory).
(It's pretty sad when you have to make your own birthday cake)

The birthday girl.
Speaking of celebrating, I celebrated the last of my substitute seminary teaching for the year.  I made these cute little individual scriptures for the class out of those little Hershey nugget candy bars. I must admit they turned out pretty cute. Thanks Pinterest!
We studied the Book of Mormon this year.

We celebrated a visit from Taylor and Whitney the weekend after Mother's Day.
Taylor's good friend from BYU got married in the Twin Falls temple so Taylor wanted to be here and he brought Whitney along with him.
It was fun having them home.
We went out to Wahoo's and played "kid golf" as Eva calls it.

Last of all I celebrated the end of my piano lessons for the year with my
Spring Piano Recital.
All of my students did awesome.
It's nice to have a summer break and not have to worry
about piano lessons for a while.
May is truly a month worth celebrating!

I am so proud of you, Joan, for teaching piano lessons to so many kids through the years. What a wonderful way to share your talent! Mother's Day at your house sounded great, especially with having three sweet moms in the house!
