I think we brought a little bit of Hawaii home with us because we have had balmy weather throughout the month of February. We decided to take advantage of the great road trip weather so we drove down to Provo to go to a BYU basketball game, go skiing with Taylor, and see Patty and Hal. We missed their Mission homecoming talk because we were in Hawaii.
We left Boise on Thursday mid day and made it to the BYU vs. St. Mary's game midway through the first half.
We are true blue Cougar fans.
I love going to the Marriott Center and cheering on the Cougs.
I love when the student section gets the Y flag
travelingup and down the bleachers.
travelingup and down the bleachers.
The Cougars won easily 82-60.
It was a great game, probably their best of the season.
On Saturday, Tom and Taylor went to Snowbird skiing.
They had a fantastic day on the slopes.
Patty and I enjoyed spending our day together.
We went for a hike in the morning and saw these deer up behind their home.
Hiker selfie with crooked sunglasses.
After hiking we got ready and drove to Alpine to the Traverse Mountain outlet mall where we found lots of bargains.
and we had a delicious lunch at an
Italian bistro at which we forgot to take a picture.
After shopping at the outlet mall and Rod works and the BYU museum store,
we drove back to Elk Ridge and then went out to dinner with Tom and Hal.
We tried a Mexican/Peruvian restaurant in Payson, where the food was good but the service was not. They need Robert Irvine to whip them into shape, or a Relief Society president :)
I finally was able to give Patty her Christmas present from a year and half ago.
On Saturday morning Taylor drove out to Elk Ridge to see Patty and Hal and their new home and Patty and Hal made us a delicious macadamia nut waffle breakfast complete with strawberries (it was Valentine's day after all).
It was yummy.
Patty and I did a little family history work and then we said our goodbyes and we drove to BYU where we watched Taylor play in an Intramural coed soccer match. His team won 17-7 and I think Taylor scored at least 7 goals. I lost track.
Afterwards, Taylor's roommate Colton reenacted
Scott Sterling's brilliant goal keeping from Studio C.
After Taylor's match we took Taylor shopping at Traverse mountain and found Taylor some summer internship business clothes
and then we went to JDawgs for lunch.
Tom had never tried one of their delicious hotdogs.
It was a Valentine's hit.
We said goodbye to Taylor and drove back to Idaho.
This is what greeted us as we crossed the stateline.
I have a new calling serving with the YW in our ward.
Here's a few pics from our latest activities,
New Beginnings with the theme "Embark in Service"
We dressed like tourists embarking on an adventure
I invited the "Maurels" (Mia Maids and Laurels) over for "Maurel Munchies"
and I made Devin's crepe recipe.
They were definitely a hit.
I love serving with these beautiful young women.
February has been full of fun. I look forward to warmer and longer days ahead.

I could use a Jdawg about now. Can you order them online?
What a fun trip! That sunset is gorgeous! I have someone at this house that would love a JDawg. Not naming names, but it's a he.
I am so glad that you came! We had a great time together getting caught up and thank you so much for that awesome quilt!
Looks like a fabulous way to spend a winter weekend! Your weather has been better than here in the South. Go figure. That sunset is just gorgeous!
