Tom and I decided to take a quick trip to Utah the first weekend in February.
We left Boise on Thursday afternoon and made it to Patty and Hal's around 9:30 on Thursday night. Tom and Taylor hit the slopes on Friday morning and went skiing at Brighton. They had a wonderful day!
This is Tom's Darth Vader look
That meant that I got to spend the day shopping with Patty!
One of my favorite ways to spend my day.
We drove into Salt Lake and found some bargains at TJ Maxx and Trader Joe's and then had lunch at a yummy Asian food restaurant.
We headed back to Elk Ridge where we met up with Tom and Hal and we ate a new Louisiana style restaurant in Salem.
The food was delicious!
After dinner we drove back into Provo to the Richards Building on BYU's campus so we could watch Taylor play in his intramural basketball game.
It was so fun watching Taylor play ball again.
Only 5 of their 8 guys showed up to play so Taylor who had skied all day, had his work cut out for him.
He ended up scoring about 36 of the team's 49 points.
Unfortunately his team lost, but he's still pretty amazing!
We had a nice breakfast with Patty and Hal and then drove back into Provo where we picked up Taylor and drove to J-Dawg's for some lunch before the BYU basketball game.
You can't be J-Dawg's for a delicious, cheap lunch.
We checked out the BYU Bookstore before heading to the game.
Someone had built this cute little snowman out in front of the bookstore.
The BYU game was at 2 in the afternoon which worked out perfect for our travel plans. Taylor got us seats in the ROC.
The Marriott Center looks so nice with it's recent renovation and the blue stadium chairs are so much more comfortable than the old mustard ones.
BYU does a great job with it's pregame introductions and fan hype.
Selfies
We enjoyed a crepe during halftime
YUM!
Unfortunately, the basketball team played terrible and ended up losing to Pacific (the worst team in the league)
Oh well, it was still fun to be at the game.
We got back in the car and drove back to Boise and arrived on Saturday night around 10:30 pm
It was a very quick trip to Utah.
Tom got to church on Sunday and found this cute decoration on the door of the Bishop's office.
The Activity day girl's had decorated the Bishop's office.
We had a big Valentine's day activity on Wednesday night for all the senior's in our ward. The YW hosted a Jr./Sr. Sock Hop
complete with a photo booth.
Aren't these cute Young women?
We had them fill our an "All About Me" questionnaire and they brought pictures from their youth and then the youth had to guess who each person was.
Our soda fountain with ice cream sundaes
complete with soda jerk hats
It was a great success!
I love serving with these young women and leaders!

What a fun weekend escape! The skiing weather looked awesome and Taylor is one handsome man.
Nice Joan. Who knew you were married to a closet Darth Vader?
What a great idea for an activity. I'll bet everyone had a great time. I loved your getaway weekend, too. . .. only a little bit jealous!
I am so glad that you and Tom were able to come! I loved the "sister time" we spent together and it is always good to catch up on each other's lives! Your Valentine Mutual activity looks so fun; and how cute is Tom's "Heart Attack"? I am sure that the youth really love their bishop!
