We started off the new year right with a snow shoeing adventure into the wilds of Idaho.
We invited our friends the Manwaring's and their son Hunter and Taylor invited his friends Theresa and Colton Grange and we headed for the hills.
It was a cold but beautiful New Year's Day!
We had to go up the mountain to find enough snow, but Tom was a great guide.

We brought a picnic lunch and took a break.
Snowshoeing uphill is hard work.
My friend Patricia and I.
She's so little she hardly can fit in the picture.
We got home from the mountains that afternoon so Taylor could
catch his flight back to California and we hosted Devin and Sarah for some
Bowl game watching and some party food!
Here's to some cuddling with Grandma on the couch.
Devin got tickets through his work to the BSU vs. New Mexico basketball game
so Whitney and I got invited to go.
Tommy is so friendly and he especially likes Grandpa's.
He climbed down from his seat by me and joined the Grandpa on his right to watch the game.
Good crowd at Taco Bell Arena
Whitney took the girls to the poster making station where they made some
Go Bronco's posters
Sophie is terrified of mascots, so guess who decided to come sit behind us?
Buster Bronco! He snuck up on us and had his feet on Sophie's chair,
but amazingly enough she didn't freak out and she kind of liked it.
Hey Buster!
It was such a fun night!
Whitney, Sarah and I wanted to do a temple session in the new
Meridian Idaho temple, so we met up at the temple.
It's a beautiful place.
Nothing better than being there with family.

Afterwards Whitney and I stopped for lunch at Panera
and then smuggled our food into the movie theater where we watched
The Greatest Showman!
I LOVED that movie.
I highly recommend it to everyone!
Best movie I've seen in a long time.

It finally came time for Whitney to fly back to Arizona but we all met at
Chick Fil A for a farewell lunch before I took her to the airport.
We love having Whitney home.

Sophie and Eva started their Yball basketball league, so
we have two games to go to on Saturdays through February.
Tom and I took off for another winter adventure up to McCall in mid January.
We cross country skied at Ponderosa State Park.
It was a fabulous day in the Idaho mountains.

I admire how active you are with all your winter adventures- you are awesome! Loved the cute pictures of you and the grandkids and of Tommy finding a grandpa to sit by - that is so cute! Wouldn’t you know the mascot would pick the row behind Sophie! Looks like you and your girls had a great day at that beautiful new temple and going to lunch together! Fun holiday and winter memories!
