"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

Celebrate in September

Wow, I can't believe September is over. Where did it go?
Well, I know we had many reasons to celebrate in September.
First of all, it was Tommy's 3rd birthday!
I have a tradition of taking my grandkids out to lunch and shopping on their birthday.
Tommy chose to go to McDonald's.
I love his many expressions as he tries to smile for a picture.

After lunch we went to Walmart to shop for a birthday gift.
We found a cupcake too.
Later that night we met at Chick FilA for dinner to
celebrate Tommy!
Art in the Park comes to Boise every September.
I met Devin and Sarah and family at Julia Davis Park
and we had fun walking around and looking at all the
arts and crafts.
We also had to get a treat.
Eva chose dippin dots
and Tommy chose a corn dog with mustard
Tom and I met Rick and Aline Hurst in Sun Valley for a fun
weekend campout.
On our way, outside Fairfield, we ran into a cattle roundup
which closed down the highway both ways for a while.

Doesn't Tom look dashing in his fishing hat?
He actually had a great day fishing the Bigwood river.

While Tom and Rick fished, Aline rode her bike and I wandered around Sun Valley
The trees had just started to turn
Our campsite. It actually got pretty cold on Friday night but we stayed
pretty warm in our little tent.

Saturday morning we went on a fun bike ride

Miss Sophie Joan also celebrates her birthday in September.
We were going to be out of town on her official birthday,
so I pulled her out of school and took her
to lunch at the Cheesecake Factory for lunch.
We of course shared a piece of cheesecake.
Afterwards, we shopped at the mall at Bath and Body works
and Claires where Sophie bought some new earrings.
Miss Sophie turned 8 so this is a very special birthday because she will
be getting baptized the weekend after general conference.
