"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

Labor day in Colorful Colorado

Tom and I flew to Denver for Labor day weekend.
Sara picked us up at the airport and we made a quick trip
to the dentist to get our teeth cleaned,
thanks Jonathan,
and then got to hang out with these cuties!
Love my granddaughters, Leah and Lizzie

Thursday night we checked out a new food trend in Aurora.
Fish waffles and frozen yogurt.
Lucy also got to try a Boba smoothie

It is basically a fish shaped waffle, tastes like a waffle cone.
It was yummy!
We picked the kids up early from school on Friday and drove up to
Rocky Mountain National Park.
We checked into our hotel in Estes and then drove into the park and took a hike.
 What a beautiful place!

We were starved after our hiking and found
Indian food for dinner in Estes.
It was really good and the kids loved it!
We bought food for a picnic and drove back into the park on Saturday
It was a beautiful blue sky day.

We took a beautiful drive to the top of the world

 We hiked
 climbed

 and ate our picnic
 Leah loved the donuts

We stopped for arepas in downtown Denver on our way home.
Wow, they were yummy!

On Sunday we went to church and later in the afternoon,
Jon watched the kids (they were sick of driving)
and Sara took us on a drive out to the Indian Paint mines.
What a cool place.
I now know why they call Colorado, colorful.
It looks like an alien planet.

Monday, we tried to go to brunch at the Denver Biscuit company,
Tom's favorite, but it was an 1 1/2 hour wait,
so we settled on Uber Sausage.
The hotdogs were delicious!
We then went to the Colorado Rockies vs. San Francisco Giants baseball game.
Sara got us great seats and the weather was great!

After the game, we barbecued hamburgers and hotdogs at Sara's and
later that night Tom and I flew back to Boise.
Thanks Sara and Jon for being such amazing hosts.

Wow! That is colorful! You really pack it in. I thought the waffles were fish flavored and it sounded really yucky. I was relieved to find they were good!
