"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

Forever February

Well, February started out terrific with a visit from Whitney for her birthday weekend.
We attended Eva and Sophie's Yball games,
got a pedicure

We splurged on these delicious CRUMBL cookies
and went out to dinner at Tucanos

On Sunday we celebrated Whitney's birthday with the family
This is one special girl!
Her new backpacking chair
Valentine's Day was kind of a bummer,
Tom and I went out to lunch and had tomato soup and grilled cheese,
but I was getting a cold and I had to serve at the temple that night, so
it wasn't much of a romantic celebration.
I did get "heart attacked" by the young women in the ward
which made me very happy.

Devin, Sarah, Tom, Jonathan, and the Anderson's drove up to the high country the next weekend
for a yurt adventure.
I volunteered to stay home and babysit Tommy, Eva and Sophie.
First activity, Tommy and I made and decorated Valentine's cookies.

We had Sophie and Eva's basketball games on Saturday, so we
had to get to those (of course at different school gyms)
but afterwards we celebrated with a trip to Chick Fil A
The snow showers got home later that afternoon
so we went out to dinner with Jonathan and showed him around
Freak Alley in downtown Boise.
Tom, Devin, Sarah, Eva and Sophie

went skiing up at Bogus Basin the next weekend and I offered
to watch Tommy.
He arrived bright and early
He ate a delicious breakfast of yogurt, eggs and toast.

We had the craziest weather in February.
It rained or snowed every single day!
We got like 12" of snow in the month of February.
That is why February seemed to last forever!
The last weekend in February we took a road trip with our friends the Manwarings to Utah.
Friday night we ate at R & R Barbecue
We stayed with Whitney and on Saturday, Tom went skiing with an old mission
companion up to Snowbird and Whitney and I went to the Jordan River temple.
Then we went out to lunch at Spitz.
I love the Mediterranean salad.

After lunch we met our friends at the Hale Center Theater
for their production of An American in Paris.
We went with Patricia and her son Saylor and his friend Andrew.
It was a great show and fun to be with them.
Afterwards we all went to dinner at the
Village Bakery.
We drove home on Sunday morning and thankfully had great roads!
So glad to see March just around the corner.

You had another fun month with your cute family, Joan! It's funny, I thought as I looked at your post how cute little Tommy is, and I planned to comment on it, then I saw that it was the first thing Patty said, too! I guess that confirms it! I love the way you spend so much quality time with Whitney and the grandkids.
