The first weekend in March is always the State High School Basketball tournament.
The 5A tournament is played out in Nampa at the Idaho Center
and we like to go every year.
We have made it a family tradition and Devin and kids usually join us.
We also pick up Charlie and take him to the games.
It is a fun atmosphere and who doesn't love the free chocolate milk?
Idaho received a ton of snow in February so the 2nd weekend in March
we drove up north into the mountains for a winter adventure.
That's a lot of snow!
We snow shoed into Warm Lake
It was so beautiful!
Tom had some skin cancer removed on his ear.
He had about 15 stitches, but it is all healed up now and you'd never know.
We bought tickets to see Wicked last fall.
It was about the 4th time we had seen it,
but it was fabulous!
Whitney came home for the weekend the 3rd week in March
so we took her up to the mountains for some snow shoeing.
Still lots of snow!
Tommy and Sarah joined us for the adventure!
There was a warming hut and Tommy tried to build us a fire.
We went to Eva and Sophie's Y-ball games on Saturday.
The 4th week in March was SPRING BREAK!
The Cardon's drove from Colorado to spend Spring break with us!
Wahoo, we were so happy.
We all went out to dinner at Red Robin on Saturday night after they drove into town.
Sara and I put our planning pants on and put together our schedule for the week.
After Sunday dinner, Devin and Sarah and family
came over and Eva brought cupcakes and we had FHE.
Monday, we drove out to the Bruneau Sand dunes
and played in the sand!
Jon got Tom's drone up and going.
We all climbed up that big hill
The view on the other side.
We of course had a picnic
and played with Grandpa's remote control car.
We went out to visit Grandma and Grandpa Charlie.
and had lots of hot tub parties.
Tuesday we drove out to Caldwell to their new YMCA swimming pool.
It is a beautiful facility.
The kids had a blast!
I loved watching Tommy try to teach Elizabeth how to float on her back.
Elizabeth was so trusting of her tutor.
Miss Leah Gene
Fun in the Lazy River
We stopped at Reed's Dairy on the way home
for chocolate milk, grilled cheese sandwiches and ice cream.
Wednesday, Sara was dying to try some Crumbl cookies
Scrumpdilyicous
Tom took the afternoon off and we drove out to the desert past
Melba to Celebration Park where we of course had a picnic.
The park is right along the banks of the Snake River and Bird's of Prey area
We went on a hike and found petroglyphs
and learned how to use an Atlatl
(an Indian spear launcher)
This is the Guffy bridge.
An old rail road bridge that crosses the Snake River.
On Thursday we met at the mall for
some mall races on the stuffed animals.
It looked fun although Zach was a little embarrassed.
That afternoon I went to the temple to serve on my shift and Lucy, Tom and Sara met me there later,
where Lucy was baptized for some family names.
On Friday we drove up to Donnelly to a ranch.
The rancher drove us out on his hay wagon to feed elk.
It was so cool.
There were so many and they came right up to us and ate the hay we were sitting on.
This rancher feeds these elks every winter and there is quite a large herd now.
After the elk feeding, we drove to Gold Fork Hot Springs.
Oh that hot water felt divine!
It was a true Idaho adventure!
We had our annual Easter egg hunt on Saturday before the Cardon's left to drive back.
These two little girls cried and cried when their cousins left.
Thanks so much for coming Cardon's.
Thanks so much for coming Cardon's.
Later in the week, I had to take a picture of the first bulbs popping up in my yard.
The last weekend of the month,
Tom and I drove up to Warm Lake again.
We were going to cross country ski but the trails were melted,
so we went on a hike instead.
Still lots of snow in them thar hills.
Maybe come April we'll be done with snow adventures.

What an action-packed March you had! Keep moving while you still can, Joan! It is so fun to see you guys interacting so much with your kids and grandkids and having so much fun with them! Such fun pics!
Wow! You cram a lot into a month. The snow pictures are gorgeous. I love seeing the cousins together.
You and Tom were on the go - you had so many fun outings with you family! You planned well for Spring Break! Your grandkids are so cute playing in the water and helping each other. You always amaze me with all the hiking, snowshoeing, hot tubing and having fun in pools and hot springs! I just realized I forgot to mention picnicking - which I know oyou love!!
