Taylor and I left on Saturday, March 22 and drove through Logan, Utah so we could decorate Grandma and Grandpa's graves. Logan is still snow covered, so I thought tulips and daffodils were in order.
We spent Saturday night in Provo at Patty and Hal's house with Whitney and then went to her ward on Easter Sunday. I made Easter dinner for Whitney, her friend Brittany and Taylor. We stayed Sunday night at Patty's, then got up and headed down towards St. George. We visited Cove Fort on the way. It was interesting learning about President Hinckley's grandfather and the fort he built there.
My favorite thing is hiking the mountain behind Kay and Ken's house.
I drove to Las Vegas and shopped on Wednesday afternoon and then picked Dad up at the Las Vegas airport Wednesday evening. We enjoyed looking around Las Vegas that night. We stayed at the unremarkable Stratosphere, and then got up on Thursday and ate at the yummy Paris breakfast buffet. It was delish!
We drove back to St. George in time for Dad and Taylor to go golfing with Uncle Ken and Uncle Roger. That evening we ate Thai food with Pam, Roger, Kay and Ken. It was yummy. Friday, Dad, Taylor and I drove to Kolob Canyon. It was beautiful! We had a fun picnic, then hiked.
Saturday we went to Snow Canyon. We had fun hiking and playing on the rocks, then we dropped Dad off at "The Ledges" golf course so he could play golf.
Taylor and I spent the afternoon shopping and watching NCAA basketball. We ate dinner at world famous "Marv's" hamburgers. They were good. Kay and Ken left Saturday morning for Provo to see Michelle's senior project dance recital. They were awesome hosts as always and we love and appreciate them for their hospitality. We got up this morning and left behind St. George and 78 degree days and drove to Provo in the middle of a blizzard and 3" of snow and attended church with Whitney. We got back in the car after Sacrament meeting and arrived home safely in Boise around 7 pm. It was a FANTASTIC week. We LOVE spring break in southern Utah!!

The only part about that story I don't like is the 3 in. of snow in Provo. Boo. Looks like you guys had GREAT weather in St. George though!! Lucky Hintons. After such a cold winter and spring, I'm thinking more and more about Nellis AFB-- 3 horrible months of summer are worth great weather the rest of the year, right??
Ask Taylor about being "attacked" by the neighbor's dog (about the size of a cat). I don't know how he will ever make it on a mission. And how can you say the Stratosphere was "unremarkable"? I thought it was remarkably bland and downright forgetable. But it was very quiet . . . and cheap!!
What a fun spring break!!! I could use some of that weather about right now!!! Next time you need to head to the Denver area to visit us!!
Thank you Dad for bringing Taylor's dog phobia to light. Maybe Mom is waiting to make that an individual blog post. I guess he will just have to go on his mission to some place like Vietnam. Then he can truly overcome his phobia...fear factor style...
What's the dog story?? Now I'm dying to know!!
Okay, I'll do an individual post about the dog story. Keep checking my blog for updates (:!
If you really want to help Taylor get over his phobia, I know 2 dogs that you could take off my parents hands. Lexi and Poochie would be happy to help. I'm so glad you were able to go to the Paris breakfast. That place is heavenly...
Looks like you guys had a wonderful Spring Vacation too! Isn't it amazing that you can be in one place with 75 degree weather, while at the same time it's snowing just a little ways from there. By the way, tell Taylor that I also have a dog phobia and the darn dogs seem to know it, because they always want to attack me...hate the wretched little beasts!
It was so fun to have you here. You did forget two . . no, three highlights of the visit:
1) Buying "sister watches" in Santa Clara
2)Taylor and I hitting Carl's Jr. on Wednesday night at 9pm (poor starving kid .. . you guys were doing Vegas, Ken at work) I had a performance, then a meeting and came home to a starving boy.
3) Watching American Idol with the all-time biggest fan: Kay Hinton!
Other than that, you covered it pretty well! Can't wait til next year!
