"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

Basketball Awards Banquet

Tonight was Taylor's year end basketball banquet. We had a nice dinner catered by Johnny Carino's and then had a program. The coaches of the Sophomore, JV, and Varsity teams each took some time and presented awards. The sophomore coach went first and gave the "Eagle" award for the player that gave his best each and every practice (given to Tim Wooley, the kid that never got to play in a game because of eligibility problems), the "Most Improved Player" (David Zmuda-his first free throw in the first game missed everything. I mean everything, as in it went right by the entire backboard!), and the "Most Valuable Player". Taylor was awarded the MVP. The coach said such nice things about Taylor and told how he had won both the first and second round games of the District tournament on last second shots and how he had carried the team each and every game. It was a great compliment to Taylor. We were very proud!
Here's a picture of Taylor after the program with his award and with a poster made of him scoring a basket (look at that hang time!).
Here's a picture of him receiving his participation award.

Ok, Ok, basketball is over so we will stop with all of the "gee, our son is great" stuff. But it has been a memorable year and if you can't brag a little on your own blog, then why even have one?

Hey!!!I hope you don't mind me commenting on your blog, Devin and I just found each other for the first time in years...oh yeah, this is Devin's friend Paul from high school...so anyways, he told me to check out his blog and I saw pictures of the Morris fam that really brought back some great memories. I can't believe how much Taylor has grown but I guess its been quite a long time since I've seen you guys.
I'm glad to see ya'll are so happy. Blogs are the best.

I agree with Tricia. Why feel bad about bragging?? My blog is just one big shrine glorifying the cutest baby in the world (that would be Lucy). That's so cool for Taylor!! I'm really proud of him too and glad we got to see a couple of games at Christmas.

I'm all for glorifying your children and such but how's about spreading out the love every once in a while. We all know that Taylor is smarter, stronger, more athletic, and better looking than the rest of the Morris brood, but I'd like you to talk about my distinguished ability to analyze financial statements from time to time, or my astounding endurance for watching all things ESPN. I think you get my drift. A little recognition goes a long way.
