We had our annual family campout with the Hurst family this weekend. We went up to one of Idaho's remotest old Ghost Towns, Atlanta. It is a long 3 hour drive from Boise, with 50 miles of the drive on washboard, bumpy, dirt roads. We got there Thursday evening and found the perfect campspot surrounded by two beautiful mountains at the base of the Sawtooths. We woke up on Friday morning and a smoky haze had blown in, so you couldn't even see the mountains anymore. There was a fire burning near Featherville, 30 miles away, but the wind carried all the smoke up the canyon near Atlanta (just our luck). We decided to drive to Rocky Bar, another old Ghost Town, on Friday. It was fun walking around and exploring Rocky Bar. We had our traditional delcious dutch oven dinner on Friday night complete with barbecue pork ribs, roasted corn on the cob, watermelon, whole wheat bread with honey butter, and Triple Chocolate dutch oven cake. It was so YUMMY!

We headed to the hotsprings after dinner and enjoyed a soak.
Saturday, we had a delicious breakfast and then packed up camp and headed home. It was a great weekend, and hopefully none of us will develop lung cancer.

It looks like lots of fun! Now you're home, email me!
Yuck. That smoke sounds so gross...and unhealthy! But boy that dutch oven feast sure sounds good!! You'll have to teach me the art someday.
Notice the yellow Racket Zapper in the feast picture? That is the secret weapon for mosquitos and yellow jackets. Man is that thing fun to swing around!! I just love hearing that zapping pop sound when you connect with someting. Who needs expensive toys like 4-wheelers and boats when you have the Racket Zapper!
Sounds delicious! I did notice the yellow Racket Zapper-that sounds like the funnest part of all. I gotta get one.
