Last Thursday I drove down to Provo so I could go to Whitney's Dixieland Jazz band concert on Thursday night. It was a beautiful day and drive and I got to see Whitney perform with a guest jazz pianist from New York. It was a great concert and Whitney did a terrific job. Here's a sample: (the older guy standing next to her is Dr. Call, the director of the group and the professor she TA's for)
On Friday we drove to SLC and shopped at Taipan Trading Company and Ikea, then we had to hurry back for Whitney's class at noon. While she was in class, I shopped at the BYU bookstore, then we went to lunch at this cool pizza place out in Orem. Friday night we went to the BYU Homecoming Spectacular. I don't know that it was spectacular but it was really good. Everything BYU does is so well done. Saturday we went to the BYU/New Mexico football game. It was super cold, but BYU won so it was worth the sacrifice. I went to sacrament meeting at 9 am with Whitney, then got loaded up and took off for Boise. I found out when I got to Brigham City that the freeway into Idaho was closed because of blowing snow (freak winter storm in October?) so fortunately I hooked up with a super nice truck driver and his wife and I followed them on an alternate route (Highway 30) through Strevell and Malta. I made it back to Boise about 7 hours later, but fortunately made it back (not in a heap by the side of the road). It was a fun weekend and nice to just hang out with Whitney.

I'm so glad you made it home safely and didn't die in a heap, even though I would really like that plant of Dad's you promised I'd inherit if you died in a heap. Looks like a fun weekend! Go Cougs!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow! It sounds like a busy weekend. You're so brave. I would have been freaking out in that storm.
