"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

Best Labor Day weekend EVER!!

Saturday morning we got up early and headed to Ocean City to the New Jersey shore. We had a great time playing in the sand, surf and sun. Lucy loved playing in the sand
Eva loved playing in the surf and we tried to keep Zachy out of the sun. We had a picnic on the beach and the guys played in the waves on the boogie board and when we'd had enough sun, we took a walk on the boardwalk.
We hurried back to Philly so we could stop for Tony Luke's cheesesteaks on the way home. They were delicious!!! We got home just in time for the BYU/Oklahoma game. We were so thrilled when BYU won!,
Sunday morning before church, Sarah and I went to the Philadelphia Museum of Art. It is free admission (pay what you wish) the first Sunday of every month, so we decided it was time to go. We saw so many beautiful paintings by Monet, Renoir, and Van Gogh,
and sculptures by Rodin. We had a great time strolling through the museum.
Devin and Taylor picked us up and we headed to Sara's church. After church Sara made us a delicious dinner and then we celebrated Eva's 1st birthday.
She wasn't much interested in opening her presents (Lucy was very helpful) or eating her cake (she actually gagged on it), but it was fun celebrating her milestone with the family.
Monday was my favorite day! We got up early and drove into NYC to attend the US Open. Jonathan braved the BIG city traffic and gave Taylor a little tour of the city, then we headed to Queens and Flushing Meadows. We got to see all the big names on the practice courts, Nadal, Federer, Monfils, Tsonga, Bryan brothers, Del Potro, and others. We saw two great matches. We saw Oudin defeat Petrova and then saw Federer defeat Robredo. It was awesome and so fun being there with my family. Devin, Sarah and Eva had to head back to Virginia after we got back from New York, so they had a late night. Taylor and I spent Tuesday hanging out with the Cardon's, then flew back to Boise on Wednesday morning. It was the BEST Labor Day weekend ever!!! Next time, hopefully Tom and Whitney can come too :)

It was so fun! Eva is so cranky and clingy without all her friends. We're so sad it's over.

We've been depressed and blue ever since you left... We did have a great time, didn't we?? I'm glad we have these great memories of spending time together when the babies are little, even though they are few and far between.

Devin looks just like Hall with his hand on his brow . . . is this really happening???? I watched a little of the US open on Monday, but didn't see you on the tv. Oh, and art museum. Wow oh wow!
