"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

Oktoberfest 09

We headed out to Caldwell on Monday night, October 26 for the annual Gabrielsen family Oktoberfest. We drove through a crazy wind storm on the way to Caldwell and arrived at the Gabrielsen home to find the place dark. We figured Cindy was just adding ambience to the party by having lots of candelight, but then found out that the power was out. Thankfully, Cindy had lots of candles on hand and their neighbors provided a lantern and they have a gas stove so they were able to cook the weiner schnitzel.
The food was amazing as usual. Look at that spread!! We actually prefer Oktoberfest food to Thanksgiving food and look forward to Oktoberfest just as much as Thanksgiving dinner :)

Amy and Hansen cooking the weiner schnitzel.

The crowd gets bigger every year. This year there were 21 people!

It was great food and great company.

Tom ate one too many pieces of weiner schnitzel.

The dessert table.

The Gabrielsen siblings (minus Kay)

The hostess with the mostess!

The kid's table, Ellie, Jon, Jared and Sam.

The cousins, Ali, Jasmine, and Ami
Thanks John and Cindy for the delicious dinner and wonderful family get together. We can't wait til next year.
