"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

The week before Christmas and all through the house....

We had a busy week before Christmas. We made Christmas cookies and delivered goodies,
attended 3 more Capital basketball games, built a snowman, and went to the Ward Christmas party. We thankfully got Devin and Jonathan home after both of them got fogged out of Boise on Friday night. Devin got stuck in Salt Lake over night and Jonathan thankfully made it out of Philly before the huge snowstorm hit, but got stranded in the Minneapolis airport because Boise was fogged in. They both arrived in Boise on Saturday morning. Taylor got all dressed up for the "ugliest sweater contest" at Capital while the rest of us got all dressed up for church. We visited Grandma and Grandpa Charlie and went to the movie "The Princess and the Frog". It was a definite hit with Lucy. We all went to dinner at Chapala,
and had some awesome hot tub parties!
We went to a temple session at the Boise temple and then watched the fantastic Las Vegas Bowl where the Cougars beat up on Oregon State 44-20. GO COUGARS!
We held our 2nd annual "Iron Chef Bunchberry - Battle Pineapple". Our judges this year were Rick, Aline, and Scott Hurst. Each team had to create two entrees in 45 minutes using the mystery ingredient
Sara and Jon won with their "Terriyaki bacon burgers" and cream cheese and pineapple paninis. Devin and Sarah were 2nd with their chicken and pineapple wraps and tapioca pudding with caramelized pineapple, and the lowly team of Tom and Joan got third with their grilled pineapple, mango chicken skewer and ham and pineapple pizza. Even though we lost we had a great time and can't wait to compete again next year!
