"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

Winter Wonderland Weekend

Taylor and Whitney and some friends (Andrew, Andrew's brother Ben and Ben's friend Amanda) came home for President's Weekend. They got to Boise on Friday evening. We got up early on Saturday morning and headed for the hills. We drove up to Donnelly to our friend's cabin and got all our stuff moved in and then we went cross country skiing and snow shoeing.

It was a snowy day, but that made it all the more fun! Who is this kid anyway?
We even had a picnic. It was awesome of course with a rating of 8. We went to dinner in McCall at My Father's Place

and then headed to Gold Fork Hot Springs. There were over 100 people there. It was crazy! We've never seen it that busy, but it was still fun. The road into and out of the hot springs was really slick, but Tom with his mad driving skills got us back to the cabin in one piece. Sunday morning we went to church in Cascade, then had a delicious Cafe Rio Pork Burrito dinner and played some games. We headed back to Boise later that afternoon. We played games and Whitney and Andrew entertained us on the piano and Grandma and Grandpa Charlie came to visit. Monday morning after a tour of Boise, we ate lunch and the kids headed back down to Provo. We were so happy to have them home for the long weekend.

What a great weekend! You must really get a workout when you cross country! How fun that you could host such a lively group and you and Tom do so well keeping up with them!

I feel like there's more story to Tom's mad driving skills on the slick roads...there always is! That guy's crazy. Sounds like a great wintery weekend, but I bet your ready for spring and some Las vegas heat now!
