We just got back from a week long trip down south. We flew into Savannah, Georgia a week ago Saturday and enjoyed an evening eating and exploring Savannah. We ate on Market Square, and besides really poor service we had a pretty good seafood meal.

Then we walked to Leopold's for ice cream. Leopold's is a famous ice cream parlor in Savannah.

Savannah is a beautiful city with a park every few blocks. Forrest Gump sitting on the park bench was filmed there.
We drove north to the South Carolina border on Sunday and met Devin, Sarah and family at
South of the Border, SC (the tackiest place in America)

where we had lunch and then loaded Sarah, Eva and Sophie into our car and headed to Hilton Head, SC to our handicap friendly condo. We were able to take care of the kids and Sarah for a week while Sarah recovers from her broken feet.

We went to the beach,

and ate tons of yummy seafood,

and southern barbecue.

What trip to the south would be complete without a trip to the Waffle House?

We loved riding bikes on the beach.

Tom got to golf on beautiful courses

The weather for the most part was really nice. A welcome change from February in Idaho. We spent a day sightseeing in Beaufort, SC

which is a beautiful antebellum town right on the ocean.
Devin drove down after work on Wednesday and spent the rest of the week with us. He enjoyed golfing with Tom and on Friday we drove back to Savannah where we took a tour of the city

and then we drove to Tybee Island where we had dinner (YUM more seafood)

and looked around.

Saturday we found a handicap accessible beach so that Sarah could go all the way to the beach

so we played in the ocean

and built sandcastles

and had a picnic

(rated a 9). It was awesome.
It was a fun week plus we got to help out Devin and Sarah and give Sarah and the kids

(isn't Sophie cute?) a change of scenery.

We'll have Georgia and South Carolina on our minds for a long time.

It was a great trip!

Yea! The first to comment. Looks like a really fun trip and looks like you all had a really great time! So good to see the kids and see that Sarah is indeed still having fun. Wish i could have been there but some of us have to work and pay taxes...or is that go to school and work...hmmm...still confusing...
I can't help but compare the pictures on this post with those of your snow adventure on your last post. Both have whitish stuff in the background- but they sure have a different feel! I'm so glad that you had a good time and that you could spend that time with Sarah and Devin and family. Welcome home!
It is gorgeous! And how nice to be w/ the other Morris family. I'd love some yummy seafood about now. Maybe later.
What a wonderful trip! I am glad that you were able to return to so many fun places and see new places as well! The seafood and barbeque sounded delicious - nowhere quite like the south for great food! How fun to spend time with kids and grandkids!
Looks like a great trip!! I'm jealous of all the seafood you got to eat. Looks delicious, and the kids were cuuuuute!! Bet you were in baby HEAVEN!
I love your narrating! Sounds like a great trip and a fun time with family. Now I want to take a trip down south!
What a fun trip!! It looks like a beautiful place to visit and then to be able to help out and watch those two beautiful grandkids!
It was a fun time. I wish I could have spent the whole week partying with you guys instead of just 4 days. Alas, as Dad knows so well, somebody has to work and pay taxes. That picture of you, Dad, & Eva at the Crab Shack is classic. That one belongs on the vacation wall in your house!
Man, after reading your post and seeing the pictures, I really was there. And here I thought if was just a dream.
What a beautiful trip! You guys always look like you have so much fun. It was so sweet of you and Tom to help out with Sarah and the kids.
