"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

King Cake Party 2011

We hosted our annual King Cake Party last week. We had all the regular guests, John, Cindy, Missy, Jedd, Jared, Sam, Ellie and Anderson and this year we had first time guest Aaron and Carina, Adam and Logan.
The food was delicious, fried chicken, shrimp and grits, mashed potatoes, she-crab soup, glazed carrots, cornbread and honey, and lemonade and for dessert, Ellie's "better than birthday" cake (we got to celebrate Ellie's birthday which was the next day), Key lime pie, berrie pie and of course the King Cake.
We visited and played Catch Phrase. I love our family get togethers.

I guess the fireworks were to come later the next day. The food sounds fantastic!! I've never had She-Crab soup, but boy it sounds good. And just would like you to know that I've never attened one single mardi gras party this family has ever hosted. I guess the tradition started after I left home... A real shame.

How did I miss all these awesome posts? The King party looks like so much fun; I sure miss all those awesome people. I also LOVE Whitney's quilt--it's gorgeous! And you guys seem to have lots of weekend get-aways. Glad you fit one last ski trip in for this year.

All that food looks delicious! Between Octoberfest and this party you Boisians do it right! (Is boisians a word? It is now. ;))
