"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

BYU Cougar Fun Run and Freshman Sendoff Breakfast

Last Saturday the Boise Chapter of the BYU Alumni Association held the first annual BYU Cougar 5K Fun Run and Freshman Sendoff Breakfast. We had between 130-150 people participate in the Fun Run and breakfast.

It was a great turnout and I think everyone had a great time. Thankfully the weather cooperated and we had a beautiful sunny day. We served all you can eat BYU blue pancakes,
sausage, fresh fruit and juice. Everything turned out great! We got so much positive feedback I think we are going to make this an annual event. It was so fun to see all our fellow Cougar fans dressed up in their Cougar blue and out with their families being active and having fun.

We have a great Alumni board and everyone did their part.

Whew! We can now take a little break before we start planning our next event at the Alumni house in Provo with all the Boise valley BYU students in September.

Looks fun, Joan! Was this a fundraiser or just for fun? So sorry I missed your birthday this year! Though it is belated, I want you to know how much I love you and am so glad that you are my wonderful sister! My life has been kinda out of control. We had Blakey with Mindy's two, then Mindy got back Monday and is here, then we're all leaving tomorrow (Mindy and kids, also) for Mesa to tend the twins, Maddy and Rick's Abby is flying in to tend, also. Rick and Jodie and Stacy and Tom, each with their 3 oldest kids, are going to London and Paris. Rick has business in Paris. Hope we survive the Az. heat!

You are totally amazing to pull all that off and so successfully! Is the girl in the blue pancake cooking picture a Hobson? If so, which one?

Great job!! Looks like a really fun, well thought-out event. I can remember mine was a BBQ with a few people at some park and we got a free BYU pencil. NOT as cool as this!

Not sure about the blue pancakes but love the Cougar spirit. Next summer you'll have to see if Dad will dress up as Cosmo and walk around giving people high fives.
