"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

June is Busting out all Over!

I love June! Not only is it my birthday month, it is the month summer vacation starts and the weather is usually just perfect, not too hot, not too cold. It has finally warmed up in Boise and we've been enjoying the great weather. Here is a random sampling of some of the fun we've been having in June. My Bookclub in June decided to review the cookbook "Our Best Bites" and each of us made a recipe from the cookbook and we sampled everything and had a delicious lunch. I've been friends with some of these ladies for 30 years.

I made this chocolate mousse cake. It was as good as it looks!
For Father's Day Tom and I went up to Donnelly and spent Friday and Saturday at our friend's cabin. We golfed at Tamarack resort on Friday afternoon. I haven't golfed for a couple of years, so I was pretty rusty, but it was so fun. I can't wait to go again. The golf course was BEAUTIFUL! (there were deer on the golf course) and the weather was perfect.

Whitney came home from Provo last weekend because she heard we were going camping and she didn't want to miss out on her first campout in two years. Tom and I went to our Stake Youth Conference water skiing activity up at Lucky Peak Reservoir and then met Missy and Whitney and the kids (who had gone up earlier on Friday) at the campground above Idaho City. Jedd came up after work. They had the camp all set up so we set our tent up and hiked, biked, roasted marshmallows (Missy is still the pro) and played games. I about froze on Friday night but it warmed up on Saturday and we had a delicious mountain man breakfast and took a hike along the Crooked River. It was beautiful and the perfect hike. Here's to more cabins, campouts and picnics as we kick off the summer!

Everyone here keeps talking about our Best Bites. Do you use their recipes often? The cake looks delish!
