Our Boise Temple is still closed for remodeling so our stake took a temple bus trip to Salt Lake this past weekend. Two buses left Boise Friday evening and we arrived in Salt Lake later that night. We stayed at a motel Friday night and then got up bright and early and headed to the temple. It was a beautiful, bright morning as we walked to the temple.
I had been to lots of sealings in the Salt Lake Temple, but I had never actually gotten to see all of the ordinance rooms. It was so BEAUTIFUL! We did an 8 am initiatory session, then we met Whitney for the 10 am Endowment session and I loved seeing all the rooms. I am just so amazed and impressed that our pioneer forefathers had such faith to spend so much of their time creating a beautiful temple when they probably lived in a one room cabin. It is so humbling when you see the hand-crafted wood, windows, murals, doorknobs,
etc. I was truly humbled. We also got to participate in some sealings after our endowment session. It was awesome!
We finished up at the temple and decided to check out the new City Creek development and get some lunch.
YUM, Chick Filet!
We wandered around Temple square and the flowers were so beautiful!
Tom topped off his dining experience with a Crown Burger and then we loaded up the bus and headed back to Boise. It was a dream come true to finally get to go to the Salt Lake Temple.
"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

Nice pics Joan. Could use a Chick-fil-A or Crown Burger right about now.
Wow! Beautiful pictures. I love the close up of the door knobs.
Good photography - I love your pictures! The SLC truly is special and one of a kind - I am glad you got to see it!
Yay! That looks like an awesome trip. Those pictures are gorgeous. That last one is SO pretty w/ tulips and the temple.
That really makes me feel dumb for having lived in Provo and never taking advantage of going to the SLC temple. I've never been inside but it sounds so beautiful! What a great way to spend your Saturday.
Roger's sister, Shellie's son was sealed to his wife a couple years ago, and the family all went through a session together, and I was, like you, again amazed about the same things you mentioned. It seems every time I go through, I see and think about different things. And there's nothing quite so beautiful as Temple Square!
Awesome pics! You have to make sure to put the A!!!!!!!!!!!!! in Chick-fil-A. Every time I see the word I hear four little voices shouting it in unison. The Salt Lake temple is so beautiful. It's no wonder that everyone wants to get married there.
