"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

Dashing through the snow!

We have had more than our fair share of snow this winter and with the temperatures not getting above 29, the snow isn't going anywhere anytime soon. I took this picture on my morning walk. The snow is pretty to look at, but not so fun to drive in, walk in or be cold in.
It was 4 degrees on my walk this morning.
Last Saturday, Tom and I headed for the hills and went cross country skiing up in Garden Valley. It was a beautiful blue sky day, but it was a very cold 15 degrees.
Once we got skiing though you didn't even notice the cold

After cross country skiing, Tom booked a sleigh ride.

It was so cold, but we bundled up and away we went.
We really were dashing through the snow, in a 3 horse open sleigh.
I felt bad for the poor horses but they didn't seem to mind. It was really fun.

It was a beautiful drive back to Boise. I made Tom stop so I could take these pictures.

We stopped for dinner in Horse Shoe Bend on our way back to Boise and had some good comfort food. We were still pretty cold.
I can't wait for our next snow adventure.

You lucky! I've always wanted to ride in a one horse open sleigh. Hey! I gotta know- Did you sing the song as you went. You can be sure I would have! Your pictures are so beautiful.

Do you have photoshop? You really should x out the porta pottys in that picture at the top. Then it would be the perfect winter picture. Those johns just kind of ruin it for me.

What a fun outing! You are so good to brave the cold and do what you want! (I have to agree with Kay about those darn porta pottys -they do not add to the winter wonderland perfect photo background). I guess that is just kind of symbolic of life - it is such a mix of beauty and beast - toilets and wonderlands. Well enough comparisons - I had better quit before I say words I shouldn't!

Okay, I fixed the picture. No more making fun of the outhouses.
