After a week of the flu I think I'm finally ready to get caught up on my blogging.
On February 2 I flew out to Richmond to spend a week with the kids and grand kids. I spent 3 1/2 days with Devin's family, then took the Mega bus down to Raleigh and spent 3 1/2 days with Sara's family in Pinehurst before we all drove down to Orlando
for a really big week at the Happiest Place on Earth.
Sarah and Devin just moved into their first home, so they were in the midst of painting and decorating as you can see by the unfortunate orange color on the kitchen walls. By the end of my stay, the kitchen was painted a beautiful gray.
It's traditional that Eva and I bake together. We made some delicious Valentine's cookies.
Yum! (Sarah had paint swatches all over the walls)
Here's the finished kitchen and dining room. Didn't it turn out beautiful? Sarah also hung that beautiful light fixture over the dining room table.
I got to go to Eva's gymnastics class. She was awesome!
Little Sophie was dying to be a gymnast too!
I got to Raleigh in time for lunch on Wednesday and Sara and I
found a really good place called "Nosh" right by Duke University. I had a killer Reuben Sandwich. Thanks Patty for introducing me to those little gems.
It was so fun seeing how much baby Leah had grown.

Sara and I went walking every morning in North Carolina. Sara wanted baby Leah to get used to the front pack so she'd be ready for Disney world.
On Saturday morning we loaded up the minivan and hit the road for Orlando. We drove through North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and made it to Florida in time to pick Tom up at the airport at 6 pm. We got checked into our condos at the Orange Lake Country club and Devin and Sarah joined us after their 12 hour drive from Virginia.

Sunday morning we went on a walk around our resort. It was beautiful (unfortunately we never really got to enjoy it because we spent every waking minute at Disneyworld ;)
Sara and Jon waited to bless Leah when we could all be together. We had our own Morris family church service on Sunday morning with a spiritual message from Bishop Morris and Jon gave Leah a beautiful name and blessing complete with a fire alarm interruption. Jon's parents were able to be a part of it via Face time on the iPad.
We wandered around Downtown Disney on Sunday afternoon
Legoland!
Then I fixed Sunday dinner in our condo. I don't think Eva liked what I fixed ;)
| After dinner, the kids put on a show for us out on the patio. |
After dinner we visited Camp Wilderness and met Chip and Dale. Eva and Sophie are scared to death of mascots. Sophie wasn't too thrilled to meet Dale.

Looks like the start of a great adventure. Well, I like what you fixed!
For the record, I think Sunday was my favorite day. I think back to that lovely Sunday afternoon sitting on the patio watching the kids do their show with all of the week ahead of us. That was a nice moment. Once the week at Disney started it was gone almost as quickly as it began.
I also love those Camp Wilderness/Chip & Dale pics. I was doing my best in the background to coax Eva out of her irrational fear of mascots. I'd like to think my psychotherapy helped. She got better as the week went on at least as it related to princesses.

So cool that you could visit each family before you all descended on Disney World! Lots of happy pics!
