"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

Here's to 68 Years!

Tom's parents celebrated their 68th anniversary on February 5. In this day and age, 68 years of marriage is pretty amazing. I'm so thankful for their example of love and commitment. We have all been blessed to have them in our lives.
To help them celebrate, Tom and I took them out to dinner to their favorite place, Texas Roadhouse.
Of course, we had to have the wait staff sing to them and bring them a free ice cream sundae.

Still looking good at 87 years young.
Here's hoping for 68 more years!
And as a side note, I finally finished the quilt I've been working on for over a year.  I'm so proud of it. I had to learn how to quilt "on point" for the first time, plus I've never used rick-rack as binding, but this dog isn't too old for some new tricks. Now I need to start another project so I don't feel guilty sitting down to watch the Olympics every night!

Tom's parents are amazing! I told you about Charlie hopping up and down the bleacher rows like a teen-ager when we went to one of Taylor's games, and I'll bet he is still going strong! Lucille is such an elegant lady. Your quilt is wonderful, Joan! I am so proud of my little sister! You have done something your big sister couldn't begin to do, much less finish!

Nice quilt Ms. Joan! As we walked out of the restaurant, someone asked my mom, "So what's the secret to such a long marriage?" Without hesitation she said "Well I still really like him!" Words to live by . . .
