"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

March Madness, already??

Last weekend was the State Highschool Basketball Tournament.
We love to go to the games out at the Idaho Center in Nampa.
This year was extra fun because Capital High School won the District title and finished the regular season undefeated.  They are coached by Paul Rush who was Taylor's coach all through high school.  He coached Taylor on the Sophomore, JV, and Varsity teams and he is a really good guy.
Capital got the #1 seed for the state tournament and they defeated Timberline in their first game in the state tournament on Thursday afternoon,
then they defeated Lake City from Coeur d'Alene on Friday night.
Saturday night was the big championship game and Capital played Borah High School for the state championship.
Borah had won the state championship the past two years and I think everyone thought they would win again.
The Idaho Center was packed, standing room only.

Capital trailed the whole first half and was down by 9 in the third quarter.
Coach Rush called a time out and after the time out Capital played really aggressive defense causing turnovers.  They went on a 21-0 run and ended up winning the game 63-53.

 Yeah Capital!
 Go Eagles!
Monday night we hosted the annual "King Cake" party for our family.
It's funny how all our family dinners center around drinking, ie., Mardi Gras, Cinco de Mayo, and Oktoberfest ?
The food was delicious, Missy's yummy green salad, Carina's biscuits, fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, jumbalya and John's shrimp scampi and lemonade to drink.

 Missy, Claire, Aaron and Carina
 Adam, Anders, Sam, and Ellie
 Such a fun group!
 Claire is so cute!
Jared entertained us with some card tricks.
Guess who got the baby in their piece of King Cake??
Ellie!
Sorry John, you didn't get it this year.
It looks like Missy and Miss Ellie will be hosting the King Cake party next year ;)

Your photos and description of the basketball game brought back memories of high school years when Caldwell was a contender against Borah and believe it or not, we won!
