Tom and I just returned from a week in paradise. We had such a carefree time in Cabo San Lucas. What could be stressful with yummy food, sun, sand, and snorkeling? We arrived at our condo on Saturday night, so Sunday morning we drove to Sacrament meeting at a beautiful church. The members were so nice to us and even though we couldn't understand a thing we were able to feel the spirit and partake of the sacrament.
Afterwards, we tried to find a Sunday brunch and by the time we got there, the brunch had just ended. Oh well, the restaurant was on the beach and the nachos and fish tacoes were delicious!
It seems like all we do on vacation is eat, well maybe that is all we do.
One of the great things about Cabo is the abundance of seafood, so for this seafood loving girl, I was in heaven. What could be bad about $15 shrimp and lobster with a delicious limonada?
We spent lots of time at the beach. The snorkeling was GREAT!
Our resort the Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach was built on a hill. It was quite a workout getting to our villa and up to the car every morning. They have little golf carts that take you around, but we boycotted the golf carts and chose to walk everywhere. It was a great workout!
Here is one of the 5 pools.
The view from our balcony.
We saw so many whales out playing in the ocean right from our balcony.
Tom had researched the dining options in Cabo on the internet and found a great message board with lots of great suggestions. This little taco shop was featured on Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.
On Tuesday, we drove up to Todos Santos. It is a quaint, artsy, old Mexican village. It was fun walking around the little town and shopping.
We stopped at some great beaches on the way back to Cabo San Lucas.
It was kind of an overcast day so the beaches were pretty deserted.
View of our resort from midway up the hill.
More seafood for dinner!! Shrimp 4 ways! Yum! Poor Tom isn't much of a seafood lover so the waiter talked him into Chicken spaghetti with Diablo sauce. For those of you who don't speak Spanish, Diablo means devil in Spanish. To say the least, the pasta sauce was HOT!
Another day at the beach!
We rented a sea kayak and had a great time paddeling along the coastline.
Tom tried out stand up paddleboarding. Unfortunately the board he borrowed was a surf board and not very easy to paddleboard on, but he made it work.
Cabo has beautiful sunsets.
For dinner one night we went to "Gordo Lele's". This Mexican guy absolutely LOVES the Beatles. He has their picture all over the walls of his very small restaurant. He also loves to sing Beatles songs. It was quite the experience, eating tacoes and listening to a Mexican belt out "All My Loving..."
Don't you love his hair net with beatles wig on top??
I had to document the hike up to the car every morning...
We drove to San Jose del Cabo one morning and enjoyed walking around that quaint Mexican town.
We stopped at the beach on the way back to Cabo San Lucas for some more swimming and snorkeling.
Tom tried a real paddleboard this time and it was a piece of cake.
Of course I made friends with a jewlery salesman.
We ate dinner at the Hacienda hotel one evening. It was such a treat. The restaurant is right on the beach with views of Los Arcos.
The food was so good. We shared this Molcajete with steak and chicken.
I tried a hibiscus flower drink.
Tom went fishing one morning, so I went on a power walk all the way to the top of the hill. The view looking down at the resort and the ocean.
I relaxed at the pool, while Tom fished.
Tom's guide and catch.
We spent our last afternoon at the beach.
We love picnics on the beach featuring these little delicacies from the Mexican bakery at the grocery store, Chedrau.
That night we ate Italian food at an amazing Italian restaurant.
Look at the size of that lasagne. Needless to say, we split an order and didn't get close to finishing it.
This Tiramisu was so delicious. Again, we split one order but we didn't have any trouble finishing it.
Saturday morning, before we checked out and headed to the airport, we went on one last walk on the beach.
Adios Mexico!
We stopped for one last Taco al pastor on our way to the airport.
We can't wait to go back!

PS. You look a little sunburned - with all of your hikes and beach time that can happen! You will have a tan to enjoy at home!
What a fun trip! We were once there when we went with Rick's family on a Disney Cruise. I think that is where they swam with the doplhins. That seafoos looks so yummy - so great to get Away together!
I love Cabo! And your resort looks gorgeous! It looks like you had a great time and lots of fun adventures to remember. Adam and I are going to Playa del Carmen for our 10 yr anniversary in May and I can't wait!
Wow wow wow!!! It looks so beautiful and relaxing!! The food looks amazing, and you weren't kidding about that hike up to the car every day. Holy cow!
What a fun, fun post and trip. I loved reading and seeing people I love having so much fun. That seafood almost makes me want to go to Mexico . . . Almost. That Beatle guy is hilarious. That alone is worth the trip.
