Last week I had to be in Provo for a BYU Alumni Board of Directors meeting Wednesday through Friday. I hit the road early Wednesday morning so I could meet up with Kay in Logan so we could decorate Grandma and Grandpa's graves. Kay is in Logan helping Shonna who has been on bedrest with her pregnancy for the past few months. Kay, Shonna, Caleb and Lily met me at the cemetery and we took a few obligatory pictures. I think Mom and Dad's headstones are some of the most photographed icons in Logan.
Shonna is such a cute pregnant lady!
Kay invited me to Shonna's house afterwards for a delicious lunch she had prepared. It was so fun to see Shonna's beautiful home and be with her cute kids.
I left Logan and got to Provo in time for my 4:30 pm meeting and then Taylor met me at the Hinckley Alumni center for a Board meeting dinner that evening.
Afterwards we drove around Provo and he showed me his new digs for next year. Well, they aren't really new, the apartments have been around for at least 40 years. Then we went to his current apartment and met up with Colton, his roommate. Colton and Taylor were going to go workout so I had to take a picture of Colton's workout shirt. It is the latest in BYU fitness wear.
The Tom Morris motivational T-shirt.
Unfortunately it was Whitney's spring break so she was in Arizona,
so I stayed in her house, all by myself.
Provo and the BYU campus were
BEAUTIFUL with all the blossoms, snow capped Timp, and blue skies.
This is the Hinckley Alumni Center where I had all my meetings.
Thursday morning we got a private tour of the art exhibit "Sacred Gifts" by the director of the BYU Art museum. I had been to the exhibit before and watched and read everything on the iPad app, but I learned even more from him.
The museum director is a powerful speaker/teacher and the exhibit is amazing and filled with the spirit.
I took a Cougar to lunch on Thursday.
I walked Taylor to his next class after lunch.
The guy who started it all
Karl G Maeser
We had another Board dinner on Thursday evening with BYU's athletic director Tom Holmoe who spoke to us. Taylor was again my date.
It was a great experience for him to mingle with the BYU alum professionals from all over the country.

Friday morning we had breakfast with President and Sister Samuelson and new President and Sister Worthen.
Each of them spoke to us after breakfast.
Sister Samuelson (she was hilarious)
Woosh Cecil!
Peggy Worthen
Kevin Worthen who Tom went to Law School with.
The board of directors presented this quilt to the Samuelson's to thank them for their years of service to BYU
Posing for pictures with the presidents of the BYU Alumni Association
We had a delicious lunch after our meetings on Friday morning.
I had to take a picture of this amazing dessert.
I drove back to Boise on Friday afternoon after my meetings ended.
Guess who arrived on Saturday??
Eva, Sophie and Sarah endured their 5 day cross the country trip and are officially moved to Boise.
They are in the process of trying to sell their townhouse in Richmond and are living with us in the meantime.
On Monday we took Grandpa to lunch at Costa Vida.
Monday evening it was our turn to host the "Empty Nesters" FHE
It was our neighbor Jed Manwaring's birthday so we surprised him with our Ninja turtle masks and a delicious birthday cake.
It has been so fun having grandkids around for all the Easter festivities.
Last night we colored Easter eggs.
This morning we made Easter cupcakes to take to some family and friends and some sick people in our ward
I'm so thankful that Devin and Sarah and family all made it safely to Boise, so now the work of finding and buying a house begins.
What a tender mercy to have kids and grandkids in Boise with us especially for special occasions like Easter.

I am so glad that you and Kay were able to decorate the graves - next year, I will join you! The BYU Alumni Board is fortunate to have you! I love the new "motivational T shirts"! I am so happy for you and Tom that Sarah and Devin moved back to Boise and you have those beautiful granddaughters closer! You look so happy!
It was so fun to be with you for a few hours. I loved it. I'm glad the meetings went well. I've been wondering how it all went. I'm glad Sarah made it safely and that you are enjoying them now. I want one of those Silly Uncle Tom t shirts.
So much fun!! Springtime in Provo really is SO beautiful. I miss those mountains. Eva and Sophie are so cute! Lucky, lucky them, and lucky, lucky you!
I also want an inspirational Tom Morris t-shirt! I think my Body Pumpers would be motivated just looking at that face.
It's so weird - i thought I commented on this post already, and I read it through again tonight, and I see that I haven't. I'm losing it! What a great few days you spent in Provo, Joan! I think it is so neat that you are on the alumni board and are having these wonderful experiences. And how great is it that you will have Devin's family in Boise! I am so happy for you! I hope you guys and Missy's family will still get together- that will be one big happy crew. Love those Easter eggs!
Can't believe Colton still has that stupid t-shirt. Somethings should find their way to DI sooner rather than later. Hey, but at least I didn't get caught wearing one of those dumb Teenage Mutant Turles masks!
