We left Berlin on Tuesday afternoon and drove south past Dresden to the little town of Freiberg, Germany. It is interesting that the church chose to put the temple in such a small town, but the townspeople love the temple. We arrived in Freiberg and checked into the temple housing (kind of like staying in a dorm at BYU) and then took a tour of the town. It was a pretty quaint old German town.
The temple looked so pretty all lit up at night.
The temple housing was not air conditioned and it was record breaking heat, so we didn't have a very restful night, but we got up early and attended the 8 am session. It was a wonderful experience being in the temple with the German saints. Tom especially enjoyed listening to the session in German.
After the session, we packed up and went to a cute German restaurant that Patty and Hal recommended. It was a beautiful setting, right on a lake.
I ordered a "plate of the day" that had headcheese or something, but it was an adventure, more so than Tom's hot dog :)
Next up, Praha.

Yes, you win the adventurous prize, Joan. I didn't realize that Freiburg was a little town. How wonderful to get to go to that most historic and, really ,world-altering temple!
Cool pics man! It's making me jealous!
Who says ordering a wurst in Germany can't be an adventure? Just so you know Joan, in my book, you really are the HeadCheese.
