"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

September Slipped Away

Well, I am totally behind in my blog posts, so I am going to be playing catch up this month. September was full of lots of wonderful activities. Some happy and some sad. One of our happy memories was going to the Leader Reactor Course at Gowen Field/Air Force Base.
One of the men in our ward works for the National Guard and got us all onto the base.
Tom is the young men's president and I'm the young women's president and it is fun heading out to mutual every Wednesday night together.
We took all the youth from our ward and put them in team building situations.
It was fun seeing how they worked together to figure things out.

That weekend, we went back to the Shakespeare Festival with our neighborhood friends, the Hathaway's and the Carr's.  We saw the musical, Forever Plaid. We all Loved it!

Tom's Aunt LaNae passed away on September 13 at age 93.
She is Lucille's older sister. Lucille's younger brother, Farrell passed away at the age of 87 last January, so Lucille has lost her only siblings this year.
We drove her and Charlie over to Blackfoot for the funeral.
She and Charlie are both 90 this year, but they were troopers and were happy to see their friends and family at the viewing the night before the funeral.
Funerals aren't just sad occasions because you get to be together with family that you haven't seen for a long time and celebrate your loved ones life.
This is Charlie with his best friend from high school, George Katseanes.
These two played sports together in high school.

This is Tim Dance. Tim is one of Aunt LaNae's grandson's, son of cousin Gary and Karlene.
Tim and Devin served their missions together in Paris and even served together as companions.

I took some pics of some of the photos that were on display at the viewing.
Aren't these two cute?
LaNae and Lucille
Here's Charlie and Lucille and LaNae and Theo.
Theo passed away shortly after Tom and I got married in 1980,
so LaNae has been a widow for a long time.
Lucille's Mom and Dad, Albert Price and Sara

Albert Price in his later years.

and as a young man
This picture of Albert looks so much like Tom from the nose down.

Aunt LaNae was buried out in Thomas which is southwest of Blackfoot out in the country.
The ward hosted a delicious luncheon for the family, and then we hit the road and drove back to Boise.
We are so thankful for eternal families that can be together forever.

I didn't know Tom was Young Men's President. Perfect, perfect callings for you two. Those lucky youth! I loved seeing the old photos. Funerals are happy/sad times as you have such tender feelings as you reunite with family.

I loved seeing those old pictures of everyone from the funeral! I think the Price genes are strong in our family.
