"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

Nothing but blessings in November

Welcome Fall!
I love November and the idea of spending the month giving thanks!
First year in a new house you have to figure out how to decorate.
Here's my mantel for fall.

Look at this glorious sunset that we can see out our window.

Devin got us free tickets from Alturas to the BYU vs. BSU men's
basketball game.
We ventured down to the arena for the game and tried to cheer the Cougars
on to victory but it was a pitiful game and they lost in overtime.
I think we cursed them by being there or something.

Sophie and I had fun by the looks of this cheesy photo.

In mid November I flew to Colorado to celebrate Miss Leah's birthday by going
to Frozen 2

Zach looks thrilled but I love how Lizzie is trying to copy the big girls in her posing.

 Time for cake and icecream

Zach has an amazing talent for drawing.
He drew this picture of the Mandalorian
 and baby Yoda
Sara and I took the kids to the mall to meet Mr. Claus.
No pictures were allowed without paying for them so this is as close as we got.
I also got to celebrate Miss Lucy's birthday by taking her out to lunch
and shopping.
The day before Thanksgiving we woke up to this:

Lizzy thought it was a good idea to wear Grandma's coat in the snow.

I guess she changed her mind and turned into a monster.

Jonathan out doing the snow shoveling
We took the kids sledding right behind Sara's house.

Jon showed up on his motorcycle when he finished the shoveling.

Sara got us reservations at Glen Eyrie Castle in Colorado Springs for their Christmas tea.
What a fun tradition.
We braved the crazy roads and made it in time for our tea party.

 Thursday was turkey day.
Grandpa Turkey sacked out on the couch
 The chefs

Thumbs up from Leah and Sophie

The day after Thanksgiving, Tom and Jon went on an outdoor adventure and Whitney, me and Sara
and the kids went to the Children's museum of Denver.
They had some pretty cool exhibits like this one that makes you feel like your skiing down the hills.

Look how tricky these kids are

After the museum we stopped at the downtown Denver giving machine
and I bought a sheep!
It was fun seeing what the kids chose to give.

When the snow shoe expedition got back from the mountains, the adults went
out for a delicious Indian food dinner in Castle Rock.

then we took the kids to Rita's (Grandpa's favorite place) for gelati

Saturday morning we flew back to Boise but stopped at the Denver Biscuit
company in Aurora for breakfast.
Look at that yummy biscuit.

We had such a wonderful Colorado visit counting our blessings
and enjoying time with the Colorado Cardon's.
Thanks Cardon's for the hospitality and memories and
thanks November for reminding us to give thanks!
