"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

"Kickin it" with the Chief

I just got home from a wonderful weekend in Utah. I got to fly down on Thursday and attend Whitney's BYU Jazz Voices concert on Thursday night. Jazz Voices was terrific, as usual, but I think they were even better than last year. The concert was great and Whitney looked so cute in her green pumps. I even got to go to a BYU basketball game while I was there. BYU played Jackson State and killed them 100 to 62 or something. Whitney felt so bad for Jackson State that she was cheering for them.
Friday and Saturday I got to hang out in the BYU bookstore, go to Ikea, Taipan Trading Company, University Mall and the Gateway center in Salt Lake. Whitney and I had a wonderful time just hanging out. I stayed with the newlyweds, Shonna and Blake, and they were such cute hosts. I felt very at home. Here are some pictures from the weekend.

Cute!! We love Whitney!! I wish I could kick it with the Chief. I bet there's a missionary out there who really, REALLY wishes he could kick it with her too when he gets home. Too bad she dogged him....

Wow, that Joan sure does get around!! Seems from her frequent blogs that she is gone just about every other week. That husband of hers must be a real gem, salt of the earth kind of guy. One who is willing to sacrifice by staying behind to take care of the young impressionable ones still in the nest, working hard to fund her global adventures, and . . . paying taxes. What a GREAT guy!

It looks like you guys are having lots of fun over there in Idaho. It's making us homesick for the West Coast! We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
