"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

"It's what summer is all about"

Last weekend Dad and I went camping. I wasn't that excited to go because Devin, Sarah, and Taylor weren't going, but Dad talked me into it. We went up after work on Friday and decided to go to Cinderella at Starlight Mountain Theatre. We found a great campsite right outside Garden Valley and pitched our tent and had our picnic dinner, then went back to Starlight Mountain and watched the show. It was a very entertaining show and it is such a beautiful setting that it was very enjoyable. The mosquitoes weren't even too bad.
We got up Saturday morning and drove into Garden Valley and shared an omelet for breakfast at the Runaway Cafe and then drove up the road to Boiling Springs. We hiked in about 2.5 miles to a great hot springs and had the place to ourselves. It was BEAUTIFUL! Dad says that "it's what summer is all about", going camping, hiking, and hot springing. We hiked back out and had our picnic lunch and then drove back to Boise. It was a GREAT camping weekend. Believe it or not, I'd love to go again (:

Hey! Hey! Don't forget the awesome campfire, complete with smores. And you can't leave out of my soon-to-be-famous quote that summer is all about fishing! (And to my former summer outdoor adventure partner Ken Hinton, all I can say is look what I've turned into. Are you happy? My manly-man card has been revoked!!)

I like you better this way, Tom! Your manly man partner is going deep sea fishing three times in the next week. You guys are headed in opposite directions on the manly man scale. Sigh . . .

PS: I love when I get on your blog and "Solitaire" is playing. And there's a picture of the Lone Wolf and I hear "There was a man, a lonely man." It's perfect! You're brilliant, Joan, brilliant!!

Maybe the lone wolf has finally found a camping companion. I don't think it will be official though until you go skinny dipping in one of those high mountain lakes.
