"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

Cardon's at the Cabin!

We had such a wonderful time at the cabin a few weeks ago. Sara, Jon, Lucy and Zachy were able to to spend from Wednesday til Sunday with us up in Island Park. They hadn't been to the cabin for 3 years so it was fun for them to share the cabin with their family. Grandma and Grandpa Charlie were also able to spend the week with us, so that made it extra special. It was so beautiful because of all the rain. We spent lots of time playing in the river, fishing, picnicking, walking, and card playing (that's for you Whitney). I actually won at Skip-Bo, woohoo.

Tom found the perfect picnic spot up on Thurman ridge. There was water, no bugs, good company, a beautiful view, and good food. Had it been gourmet food, it would have scored a 10, but we scored it a 9.5.

We spent a day in Yellowstone park and saw lots of buffalo and elk and bald eagles. We went to Old Faithful and randomly saw Tricia and her family there.

We had a great picnic on the road up to West Thumb. It was a beautiful drive and beautiful day. The girls stayed in West Yellowstone and went to Playmill Theatre's production of Beauty and the Beast that evening. Lucy was on the edge of her seat the whole show. She loved it. It was very well done and very enjoyable.

We celebrated Sara's birthday up at the cabin. Lucille made her a delicious chocolate cake.

We went on a drive to Mesa Falls and fed the fish at Warm Springs.

Taylor and Jon took Lucy on a canoe ride. I think Lucy has seen Pocohontas a few too many times, she was panicked about going over the water falls.
Jon, Tom and Taylor all got in some fun bike rides in Harriman state park. The weather was perfect, we ate lots of good food and made lots of great memories. We were so glad we got to spend time at the cabin with the Cardon's.

What a fun trip! The view surrounding the cabin is gorgeous, I have to admit it made me jealous. We can't wait to take Adam back west to camp again.
