"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

Spring Break Road Trip (Leg 1, 2, 3)!

Spring break, Leg 1, began early for me on Thursday, March 24. I drove down to Provo and got there in time to be with Taylor when he opened his mission call (see preceding post) and then we watched the BYU vs. Florida NCAA basketball game with all Whitney's BYU friends and had a pizza party! Sadly the Cougar fans didn't have a win to celebrate.
I spent Friday with Patty (she is always so nice to host me). We met Whitney for lunch at a new Thai restaurant in Provo. That night Whitney, Andrew and I went to the BYU vs. Hawaii volleyball game, then we picked Taylor up and had dinner at Guru's and ice cream at the BYU creamery at Helaman Halls.

Saturday morning, leg 2 of the trip began. I drove down to St. George. Kay and I met Pam for lunch and then spent the afternoon shopping. It was so fun being with my sisters. I don't think there is anything better than sister shopping.

After church on Sunday (I got to hear Kay's amazing ward choir), leg 3, I drove from St. George to Las Vegas. It was beautiful weather(after driving through 2 blizzards on the way to St. George) and so fun to be able to go on a walk to the park with Lucy, Sara and Zachy.
Monday we went to lunch at a yummy Greek restaurant and ran some errands.
Tuesday we drove out to Red Rock and had a picnic and went on a hike.
We stopped for a yogurt at You Swirl.Yum, you can tell the kids didn't like it that much ;)

We rated the picnic a 9.0.
Wednesday morning Sara dropped the kids off at a friend's house and we headed to the Wicked Spoon buffet in the Cosmopolitan hotel on the strip.
It was so yummy! Devin and Sarah had eaten there at Christmas time and highly recommended it. The food was delicious and all in individual serving dishes. Later that afternoon, Tom flew into Las Vegas. We picked him up at the airport and drove back to the strip and we all walked around the new City Center so Tom could check out the Aria and the Cosmopolitan hotels
and the Bellagio.
Zachy loved the "choo choo twack" (the tram) that connects the Aria to the Bellagio.
We went out to dinner that night at an Italian Restaurant out by Sara's house in the Alliante Casino and Sara and I were still stuffed from our breakfast buffet and didn't eat much, but Tom and Lucy thought the food was great!

Man, I just noticed how all these pictures have food in them. I am beginning to feel like my life revolves around eating ;(

I'd have to agree about all of it being about food. I noticed because I'm quite hungry right now. I love Thai and Greek food! Sounds like a fabulous spring break trip; glad you fit everything in.

Sister shopping really is the BEST!

And there's nothing wrong with all the food pics. It's what keeps us alive, so we should revolve around it right?! :)

Hey, I've never seen you in orange before. You look beautiful! I think the reason there's always food in pictures is because it's when you slow down, sit down, and think about taking pictures. It's a good excuse anyway. I can't wait to read about the next leg of the journey.

Sounds like you had a great time in Vegas and St. George! I enjoyed our time together and we are so thrilled for Taylor - he will be a great missionary!
