"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

Wonderful Whitney Weekend

Whitney came home the weekend of April 14-17. The "reading days" at BYU were a great opportunity for her to take a vacation since she didn't have any difficult finals the following week to study for. It was so nice to have her home. We went shopping on Friday and to lunch with Tom at Gandolfo's. Friday night she was a great sport and went to the BYU Alumni Association sponsored fireside on Marriage. She even played the prelude music and for the opening hymn. (The fireside was terrific). Saturday morning we went to the Capitol City Farmer's market in downtown Boise which is always fun. We went to the mall where we met Ami, Cindy and Eloise for lunch. Ami also just happened to be visiting John and Cindy the same weekend Whitney was home and they hadn't seen each other since before the mission, so it was a great reunion. We had lunch at Cheesecake Factory and had a great time reconnecting. Eloise is so cute and continues to remind me a lot of her Buddy (Grandpa John). After lunch, Cindy and Ami headed to Caldwell and we headed to Missy's house to visit her family. Grandma and Grandpa Charlie came over later and we went to dinner at the Macaroni Grill, and then Whitney entertained Grandma and Grandpa on the piano. After dinner we went to see "The King's Speech". They have now edited the movie to a PG13 and I really enjoyed it since I love historical themes. Whitney drove back to Provo after sacrament meeting on Sunday. It was a wonderful Whitney weekend.
