"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

Marvelous Mother's Day

We had a great Mother's Day weekend. On Saturday, Tom and I drove up to Lucky Peak for a picnic. This used to be a common sight at Lucky Peak Dam but since the 1980's they only open the flood gates and have the "rooster tail" early in the spring of good water years. There was a steady stream of traffic to view the "rooster tail" and they even allowed us to drive up and over the dam and down a utility road to get a better view. It was awesome.
We had our picnic up at the reservoir.
I've always heard that the Oregon Trail runs right along the Boise River in east Boise and that you can still see the trail. They recently made an Interpretive Trail center right off Highway 20, so we stopped, checked it out and took a hike.
It was very interesting and amazing to see that the wagon ruts still exist.
Sunday, Chef Tom and Taylor treated me to Bullseye eggs for breakfast and Terriyaki shrimp and steak for Sunday dinner after church. Sunday evening, we invited the Morris' family over for dessert. I made a yummy White Chocolate Cheesecake with strawberries. It was so fun having Charlie and Lucille and Amanda,
Isaac and Olivia, and Christie, Omar, Suzy, Charly, and Maya

over to visit and wish Grandma a happy Mother's Day!
