"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

A Piano Recital and a New Calling

I held my spring piano recital last night. It is always a little challenging trying to get all my students ready to perform, but they all came through and did a great job! They get to choose a solo piece to memorize and then we play a duet together. As you can see, we have quite a variety of music (pop, classical, jazz, ragtime, and broadway).
We had a full house, around 40 people, with lots of family support, parents, grandparents, aunts and siblings. These two are twins so they played a duet together. By the time I remembered to take a picture, two of my students had already left.

We also got a new Bishop in our ward on Sunday. Bishop "Mad dog" Morris is now the Bishop of the Mountain View Ward. He is feeling very overwhelmed and our plans of a relaxing empty nest have drastically changed.

As I said in my email, it was just a matter of time before the Lord would call Tom to be bishop. What a great team you two will make!
Congratulations on the piano recital and what a gorgeous sunset is showing out your windows!

So nice to have the recital over! I'm not sure I'll get mine blogged before I go. Still on the list/ still not done.
Tom will be an awesome bishop and will be SO good with the youth. We will be praying for you both!
