"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

Wicked Weekend

The travelling Broadway production of Wicked came to Boise this past week and we had tickets on Friday night. Whitney came home to go to the show with us. She and Taylor hadn't seen Wicked before and both really enjoyed it. Taylor was not sure he wanted to go, but I think he was glad he went. He even wore his wicked green shirt.
The acting, singing and dancing were fantastic. It was a great show.
Saturday morning we went to the Boise temple with Taylor for the first time. What a wonderful experience to be in the temple with two of my children. Tom's Dad, brother and sister in law, and John and Cindy, and Missy also came. Afterwards, we went out to Red Robin for lunch.
Saturday afternoon, Whitney needed to take a test online so while she studied I made strawberry jam. I picked up some strawberries at Costco and they were delicious!

Later in the afternoon, Whitney and Tom and I went to the Russian Food Festival in downtown Boise. We sampled piroshki, stroganoff, pork shishkabobs, cabbage rolls, carrot salad, and pelmini. Whitney got to speak a little Russian, so it brought back memories of good times in Russia. I forgot my camera so I didn't get any pictures.
It was fun having her go to church with us on Sunday
and then she headed back to Provo. It was a wonderfully wicked Whitney weekend.

I love Wicked! I'm so glad you all got to go. And I'm also happy about the jam. That's one of my favorite things about Boise, going and picking up a loaf of wheat bread from Great Harvest and slathering it with your homemade jam!

Wicked = awesome. We saw it about 3 years ago with Jon and Sara when we were still living in Philly. It was AMAZING. I'm glad you also got to go. Congrats to Taylor for going through the temple. We are excited for him and his mission call.

What a wonderful weekend! I've heard great things about Wicked, that's so neat you got to see it with Taylor, Whitney and Tom. Congrats to Taylor on going through the Temple, we are so excited for him to be serving a Mission. Russian food festival and canning strawberries, I don't think you could have packed anything else in even if you tried :).
