"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

Idaho Falls Temple Bus Trip

Tom and I spent this weekend on a bus and in the temple. Since the Boise Temple is closed, our stake organized a temple trip and chartered 5 buses. 3 buses went to the Logan temple, and 2 buses went to the Idaho Falls temple. We departed Boise at 1:30 am on Saturday morning and arrived in Idaho Falls at 6 am. We spent the day serving in the temple and then loaded the bus at 2 pm and headed back to Boise arriving at 7 pm. It gave me a greater appreciation for my Dad and all the other adults in my ward and stake growing up. I remember my Dad being excited to go on the temple bus trips and spending the day in the Idaho Falls temple long before the Boise temple was built. Tom and I were married in the Idaho Falls temple in 1979 (a little older and wiser I'd say)
but I had forgotten how beautiful the temple is. I love all the murals on the walls. Because we had no where to go or be, I really enjoyed "shaking off the world" and enjoying the peace I felt in the temple.
It was a very long day, but surprisingly very enjoyable. (our friends the Manwarings)
Now, I just have to find my temple clothes bag. I mistakenly picked up the wrong (look alike bag) and headed home and by the time I realized my mistake and went back to the bus, everyone was gone. I'm sure whomever has my bag is wondering where her temple bag is also.

You are awesome to do this. I too remember Dad going on those trips. It's back to the "olden days" I guess. I love the pictures of you two in front of the temple. You were so beautiful then and even more beautiful now . . .and Tom looks good, too. How fun to go back to where JoAnne married Tom!

Hi JoAnne. I like your posts. Why don't you put me in less of them and maybe more people will look at this. Or maybe we just need to get more relevant and interesting? Let's go do something really fun.

You were a honeymoon combo then and you get to be a honeymoon combo once again. Oh what I'd give for a little time away from the kiddies.

P.S. Nice jacket Dad! You have to keep wearing that until Clemson loses. Don't ruin their karma!
