"So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment."—Thomas S. Monson

It's Spring, Spring, Spring Again, the Flowers are Telling Me

I'm sure my kids will remember that classic Janeen Jacobs Brady tune (think Safety Kids)It's Spring Spring Spring Again. I've had that song running through my head, because Boise has had the most beautiful spring that we have had in years. The weather is always iffy in Boise in the spring. The temperatures can change 30 degrees from one day to the next, but the grass is green, the blossoms are blooming and the colors are vibrant. We have ornamental pear trees planted on each side of the street in our neighborhood and they have busted out in full bloom. When it rains or blows, the falling pedals look like it's snowing.

The tulips and crocuses are alive as they can be.

We took advantage of the beautiful spring weather (actually it was kind of cold) and went to the Great Food Truck Rally in downtown Boise last Friday evening. They had 9 food trucks, which must have not been enough because the lines were long. We opted for the shortest line which just happened to serve barbecue. Tom got a pulled pork sandwich which was good, but really small. I ordered the 3 am pulled pork nachos. They were yummy with chips, queso, pulled pork, onions, and pickled jalapenos. We topped our meal off with a couple of cupcakes. A delicious coconut cake with coconut filling and coconut frosting for Tom, and a salted caramel chocolate cupcake for me. It was so good. I'd go back to the Food Truck Rally just to get another one of those cupcakes.

I love your beautiful flower shots. Next time, just stay home and make your own salted caramel cupcake. It would take less time, less money, and probably taste better. AND you could have more than one of them. And no lines. Good thinking, huh?
