First stop was Provo. I got to Provo on Saturday, March 23, and met Patty and Whitney for lunch at Zupa's. Whitney and I went to a session in the Provo temple and afterwards I headed out to Elk Ridge for a delicious dinner with Patty and Hal. Patty and Hal have a beautiful new home and it is so fun being with them and enjoying their beautiful home and the views of the surrounding valley. I went to church with Whitney in her Single's ward on Sunday and then we all had lunch together on Sunday afternoon at Patty's.
We took a walk down the street to Evan and Kelly's later that afternoon and got to see their cute new dog and see the Evan Mickelsen family. (I should have brought my camera because I don't have any pictures.)
Monday I woke up to a blizzard. The wind was howling and the flakes were flying up at Elk Ridge. It wouldn't be Spring break without driving through a snow storm or two.
I headed down to St. George and thankfully the snow wasn't sticking to the roads so I made it in good time. St. George is beautiful in the Spring and the weather was a whole lot better than in northern Utah. Kay had a delicious dinner prepared for me and I enjoyed FHE with Kay and Ken.
Tuesday morning I got up and hiked Webb hill behind Kay and Ken's house. I love that hike because of the beautiful views of the surrounding valley.
The weather was so nice in St. George, the sky was blue and the trees were all blossoming. Welcome respite for a winter weary Idahoan.
I wore Kay out shopping all day on Tuesday. Wednesday I went to Keynotes (Kay's musical group)with Kay. My dream is to someday become an official Keynote. The ladies in the group are so nice and Kay is an amazing director and it is so fun seeing her in action. We met Pam for lunch at a new Italian restaurant in St. George. The food was great. The service was great, the waiter took a picture of us and even took a picture of my food.
After lunch, I drove down to Las Vegas and did a little shopping before picking Tom up at the airport. We checked into our hotel and then drove to the Caesar's Forum Shops for dinner. We ate dinner at Max Brenner's. I ordered a chicken panini but Tom's pulled pork with chocolate barbecue sauce was the real winner. It was delicious. The waffle fries sprinkled with cocoa powder and a little cayenne aren't bad either.
We of course we had to have dessert and we shared a Smore's sundae.
Yes, that is white chocolate ganache in the cup on the side, meant to be poured over the top and then add the whipped cream. YUM!
We enjoyed walking around the strip that night.
The next morning we had brunch at the Cosmopolitan hotel's Wicked Spoon buffet.
I don't think I've ever eaten, sushi, bahn mi sandwiches, granola parfaits, and 4 flavors of gelato for breakfast before, but it was all delicious!
We explored the Aria and the Cosmopolitan hotels
and then headed out to meet up with Sarah P and Eva and Sophie. Devin and Sarah are in Europe this week and Sarah flew out to Las Vegas to drop the girls off with her parents who are watching them while they are gone. She flew out early so we could see the girls while we were in St. George. Kay and Ken were so nice, to host us all.
Yeah for Trasher reunions.
We had so much fun in St. George visiting Pam and Roger, shopping, golfing (Tom anyway),visiting the temple and visitor's center
and hiking in Snow Canyon complete with a cookie picnic.
Saturday morning before General Conference started we had an Easter egg hunt.
Sophie and Eva loved Aunt Kay and Uncle Ken.
After the morning session of Conference we had a picnic
and played on the fun playground.
During the Priesthood session, we went to downtown St. George and rode the carousel (Eva wasn't sure about riding a horse until the second time around with Aunt Kay.
and played in the little creek that runs through the city center. St. George has done a fantastic job of revitalizing their downtown core.
After priesthood meeting we ate Cafe Rio and treated Kay and Ken to blizzards from Dairy Queen and finally awarded Kay her prize for winning the March Madness Trasher's bracket from last year.
Sunday morning we were off to Provo bright and early. Whitney had a delicious dinner waiting for us
and we had one last Easter egg hunt,

Looks like you had a great time in Vegas and St. George! Your pictures are so fun and your grandaughters are so cute - they are growing up!
We had so much fun. We miss those cute little girls. "This is a lovely parking spot." and "Why's that guy here again?" are now in our family lore forever.
Whelp, I thought if I waited a week or two before looking at this post it wouldn't hurt my heart but I was wrong.... Still hurt. I just kept thinking, "I could have been there! I could have had Max Brenner! I could have enjoyed life Trasher style! I could have eaten Cafe Rio!" Sigh... Now I'm depressed again.
Looks like tons of fun! I just had the BEST week with Whitney at another fabulous Cousin Camp. I miss her so much!!
What a fun spring break you guys had! And how nice that you got to see Sara and her girls.
